i might be a bit biased being Norwegian and i do agree that Norwegian cities can be a bit boring and expensive compared to other european cites. The nature and wildlife here is far from boring though, and i never get tired of it. If you enjoy nature Norway is among the best counties in the world. As for Denmark being on the list. Denmark is filled with fun things to do for all ages (specially kids), and Copenhagen is a great city to visit. I also find Danes to be very friendly, but in a real way, and not the over the top US way. Norway and Denmark are peaceful, safe and full off treasures. just skip the most touristy stuff and explore :)

Is Norway boring? Maybe.....but sometimes your body and mind needs to take a rest and get the chance to breathe.....then come to Norway and feel the fresh air, let your eyes rest by looking at the moutains, the fjords, the forest.....i can guarantee that your soul will be pleased and then you might enjoy the "funnier" country,s even better. There must not be high sounds, music, party,s, traffic noice etc.... 24/7.....that is not good for anyone
@tway186 күн бұрын
Beautifully said! Norway sounds like the perfect retreat for when you need to reconnect with nature and find peace. There's something special about those quiet moments in the mountains or by the fjords that let you recharge. It's true-sometimes the best kind of fun is simply letting your mind and body rest in the beauty of stillness.

What about San Francisco, Chicago, or New York? Paris, Rome, or London? Each of these cities has lived up to expectations? Sir, you were better at picking the title for this piece (so that you could reap profit) than the credibility of its contents.

The cities mentioned in the video were not based solely on my personal opinion. They were selected from popular Western tourist destinations, as identified by Euromonitor and the Global Destination Cities Index by Mastercard, using Tripadvisor reviews from April 2024 to reflect real tourist experiences. There were other cities mentioned on the list however I only focused on the top 10 for this video to highlight common opinions.

What is boring to one person is not to another. Some people like the excitement of big city life, some hate it and prefer teh quietness of serene landscapes. EG the Maldives: I can very well understand it's a paradise for beach, sea and diving addicts. For me, I'm fed up sitting on a beach after an hour, and I get seasick on a lake, I would probably find them very boring. By the way, the palace at 8:09 is the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris (seat of the French Senate) which is obviously not in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
@tway186 күн бұрын
It's all about personal preference-what excites one person can be completely different for another. It's great that we can all appreciate different things in our own way. And thanks for pointing out the Palais du Luxembourg! It's fascinating how places can sometimes get mixed up, especially with so many beautiful spots to explore.

Actually I've been to all those cities but Dheli and I kind of agree with the exception of Tokyo (I absolutely love the city). Bangkok is disappointing, same as Toronto and Dubai. Seul is ok, didn't have much expectations and I liked it. Rimini has the lovely Grand Hotel and little else. Amsterdam has lost its past allure when it was the most open-minded city in Europe.
@philippemartin29058 күн бұрын
All this is plain rubbish. You don’t need to be an expert to know that there is no reason (except business and family visits) most of those cities. As to Rimini, it is still charming (what an idea to go there for the amusement park!!!). It’s a bit hard on Amsterdam which is not one of the finest cities in Europe but is quite enjoyable (and was home to a fantastic Vermeer exhibition in 2023).

Toronto - only mentions the CN Tower and how lines are longer. Toronto is disappointing for many more reasons than just the tower. The commentary should be part of a Top 10 disappointing tourist attractions. Someday I'll have a personal AI assistant that can write comments for me automatically for throw-away AI-generated accounts with garbage content like this one.

Traveling is a bore if you're alone or with company that you don't particularly care for including family. You can have a great time in most places if you're with people you have a good time with. I like the finer things in life like classical music concerts in Austria etc, even being on a budget. What I've found is the higher someone is on the socio economic ladder, especially women, the bigger pain they are to be around. On the other hand, the under cultured and deprived are even worse. Yet the irony is I hate travelling alone.

One thing I notice, personally, when visiting, is that MODERNITY does not do it for me. I can see modern cities at home; I travel to see the old, the unique, the famous. Example: Westminster Abbey is old and interesting; the SHARD and the Gherkin (two examples of “modern”), are not, to ME at least. Also, those trying to pull in the tourist trade hype up the good sites, so that even THEY are starting to appear OVERhyped. So, one should try NOT being mesmerized by claims. More, modern loss of attention span works into the mix. Once, you waited all movie for the BIG, FINAL “showdown.” Now, you get a showdown every five minutes so senses are dulled. The younger tourist, who has been to the top of the Burg Kalifa (sic?) might not be so “gah gah” atop the Eiffel Tower or the Empire State. So there is that, too. I think one must put things into rational perspective, and also remember history. Then the size of those last two referenced towers may impress you more, once you realize how LONG AGO they were built (or perhaps realizing the Burge has no flush toilets). Hype and modern perspectives DO dim appreciation for the old and the modern is, regrettably, not all that thrilling because it is NOT UNIQUE to anywhere.

Using Trip Advisor as a basis for deducing these cities are "disappointing is ridiculous. The sorts of people who are "disappointed" make comments like "I went to Spain and all the people in the hotels and taxi drivers spoke Spanish. Had I known this I would not have gone". (A genuine comment BTW). "I didn't like the beach because the sand was too yellow". And so on. And repeating every time that the cities need to improve their facilities in order to stop people being disappointed is beyond annoying. Every city will portray itself in the best possible light and there will always be those who expect such places to be exactly like that instead of realising that well, sometimes they don't tell you everything. That's part of the pleasure of travel and going to new places. The best thing you can do it throw away the guide books and make your own mind up. This video is simply click bait for Expedia. (PS If you really want to know the most disappointing city....it's none of these. It's Edinburgh)

@@MarianneFrutiger-fh9qn It is a filthy, broken, overcrowded, expensive city with a terrible airport, awful roads, polluted with buses and taxi fumes, a hopeless tram line (just the one), full of low rent shops selling tourist tat souvenirs and boring, generic shops (none of which are Scottish), full of beggars and rough sleepers, awful food in chain bars and fast food outlets. Apart from that, it's wonderful. As a reason to visit Scotland, I can think of a thousand better ones.

This whole video is absurd. Should we go travel and expect fairyland in everywhere? You are the problem if you find places disappointing because you expect something else, something 'perfect'. Go travel with open heart and embrace what new places have to offer. Otherwise you are better off staying at home and surf the world on the net instead.
