Michael was obsessed with this movie as many of his generation were. He hated Spielberg as a man, but adored his artwork.

Maybe at a passing glance the main theme is similar but the chord progression is totally different. Jaws end credits is a little sea shanty calling them home. Heal the world is not a sea shanty. There is also a key change in Heal the World. Jaws end credits does not have a key change.
@roquefortfiles10 ай бұрын
@@Aelwyd10 No. It is an entirely original composition by John Williams. But it is done in the spirit of a sea shanty

MJ's lucky John Williams wasn't as ruthless as Prince. Prince is know for suing artists for sampling the tiniest sound or a single word from his songs. He once sued Arrested Development for $100k because they sampled the word ''Tennessee'' from his single ''Alphabet Street'' using it in their hit song titled ''Tennessee''. To be fair to Prince, he waited until the song became a huge hit before demanding compensation because they could afford it. Shows how business Savvy Prince was. He could have sued them straight away, walking away with far less $$. Prince would have had a field day with Michael Jackson 😂

not sure what this is - but to me the ending of jaws was the most beautiful part of the movie.

It is just that the music during the credits at the end of this movie (1975) is very similar to Michael Jackson song "Heal the World" (1991).

Considering Speilberg himself stole ET from the “The Alien” by Satyajit Ray which was a conscious thing, unlike this likely subconscious inspiration.
@mrpussinboots42522 жыл бұрын
That's a non sequitur. And why is it when other artists/musicians lift ideas its conscious yet when jackson blatantly rips off something its always just inspired/subconscious? 🤣🤣 you create excuses you simply wouldn't use for others. The hypocrisy is astounding. Jackson lifted extensively 'consciously' as displayed here. Over 20 notes are identical.

There are a lot of people that are tone def the present state of music should prove that. A lot of people can not tell one note from another and anyone that can not hear the exact duplication of the note especially the large interval between the last two notes are tone def. John Williams was even asked about it but he said he didn't care to push the issue.
@7beers5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand those who say the 2 are not identical. As one or two have pointed out, there are 19 consecutive notes (not 6) that are identical between the two. To those who have asked which, the notes are this parts of the lyrics: There's a place in your heart And I know that it is love And this place could be much Brighter than tomorrow The notes of those lyrics are identical to the 19 notes from 0:03 until 0:18 To break it down further: There's a place in your heart - 0:03 - 0:07 And I know that it is love - 0:07 - 0:11 And this place could be much - 0:11 - 0:13 Brighter than tomorrow 0:13 - 0:18

Identical sequence of 19 consecutive notes. Same song in my view. But there are more people passionately denying this than not. Either many tone-deaf people out there or maybe just MJ fans in denial. I am a fan too, and when I first heard "Heal the World", I couldn't put my finger on it but immediately sensed some familiarity. The "AHA" moment only came on viewing "Jaws" again after many years...
