1. I see from the video that you screwed in the tap without applying sealant to the new hole in the sink you created. My sink manufacturer instructions from the reputable RAK says apply a layer of sealant into the hole to prevent water getting into the sink. Is that necessary as I didn’t do it thinking it has been fired and made of clay so surely should withstand water ok. What do you think? 2. Should I have applied a layer of sealant around the base of the tap before screwing it in to further ensure no water gets through or is that unnecessary? 3. When knocking out the hole, my manufacturer said to drill a small hole first from the glossy side. But I didn’t do that and followed your video and it all worked fine. Have to admit, I had a few palpitations. But all was good. So is the predrilling really necessary? 4. When knocking out the hole, my manufacturer also says to IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO SUPPORT THE AREA AROUND THE HOLE. First, how on Earth are you meant to do that? Second, I just supported the whole sink on the kitchen top where is is eventually meant to sit and knocked it out whilst in situ. And it worked fine. Is it okay to do that with all ceramic sinks? Or should I have paid more care and was lucky? Thanks to anyone who replies to any of these 4 questions Oh for those who want to know something else - for the last few mm - rather than painfully using a punch hole, i used a half round metal file and managed to get a bigger hole with perfect round smooth sides (unlike in this video) within 10 minutes. File from glossy side. Hope this helps someone
