29:00 "Ballance of Payments" and "Trade Ballance" are different things (in a way): Ballance of Payments comes from all the funds comming in and going out - which includes the Trade Ballance but also investments. 31:00 Stagflation was a mystery because inflation usually resulted from excess demand - thefore caused economic growth. This is the first time I'm hearing of the term being used for the 1960s, though.
@maxheadrom308821 күн бұрын
BTW, Stagflation was a mystery at the time - economists could not explain it. Nowadays economists have tons of explanations ... like most of them always do ... tons of explanations after - long after - the fact. Note: according to Wikipedia, the term "Stagflation" was first used in 1965 and only became popular after it was used again in 1970 - both times by the same person: Iain Macleod.

Hywels Laws for civil purposrs were still active up to Henry VIII and the Acts of Union in 1536 and 1542. Criminal law was theoretically administered under English law from the Statute of Rhuddlan 1284.

@LearningAcademy1 I'm not a dogmatic leninist like so many ppl are but- So in marxism, leninist or otherwise such as Pannekoek's or Mattick's, the dictatorship of the proletariat is not the "stage before democracy", it is the conquest of democracy itself-specifically a worker's democracy (that is recall, worker's councils/soviets/electability of administrative positions as opposed to an unaccountable bureaucracy, and a militia of all able bodied workers as opposed to special groups like a military or police, the old state is "smashed") in the vein of the 1871 Paris Commune or even parts of Russia in the 1905 revolution, it is different to liberal "democracy"/dictatorship of the bourgeoisie which presupposes separation of powers (necessarily creating bureaucracy), no recall powers and "rights to property", the plurality of different factions within the owning classes leads to multi party states-in England, Tories largely represent industry, Labour finance and Third Parties are mostly smaller business owners, the one party of the dotp is not ultimate in its control like fascism or the aberrations Stalinism/Maoism and serves only to educate worker's so they can rule collectively although admittedly Lenin, Bukharin (reluctantly), Trotsky and Stalin fell short of this by exerting control over the workers with one-man rule, disempowering the soviets, even NEP etc which, along with isolation from industrialised Europe and failed revolutions there, led to Stalinism, the myth of "socialism in one country" and the brutal process of "dekulakisation" which only served a state bourgeoisie instead After a dictatorship of the proletariat, the functions of the workers semi state become superfluous and disappear-socialism/communism (not necessarily separate in marx/it's more complex) arises as workers become freely associated, the division of labour, value/money, nations and scarcity vanish and classes are no more-the economy is planned democratically by utility as opposed to the war and famine producing markets It's not a perfect state of affairs but a liberatory one and the result of capitalist contradictions-socialisation, intensified class struggle, alienation from the means of production, tendency of the rate of profit to fall etc.
@Saoirse-dm7ut26 күн бұрын
Was it really a dictatorship if the soviets had power, it definitely became a dictatorship in the early 20s when the commissars took over workers councils and a large bureaucracy had been developed; Stalin was the natural result of this development But in 1917-1921 could you really say Russia was a dictatorship when workers arguably had even more power than they do today

You need to do your reasearch UK Constitution is 1215 is in perpetuity it can not be changed ritten over adapted in any way it has been proven if you know you would know the connections it is the ultimate law legal system is unconstitutional only one law rules their can not be another law UK constitution says so Us took their constitution from English Constitution that is why theirs is codified the English Constitution took 800 years to compile that is why it is in different documents in its original form

@LearningAcademy1Ай бұрын
It doesn't matter what the CIA says in isolation? History isn't written by single documents. It is written by historians who collate all the evidence and make determinations as to the facts. And the facts are Stalin was absolutely a brutal dictator, killing millions of his own subjects. All of this was known by everyone within the Communist Party following his death. (See, Khrushchev's secret speech for instance).

3:00 Can I ask where this 10,000,000 deaths figure comes from? This sounds like an estimate given by Robert Conquest before the opening of the CCCP archives. The archives record about 1.7 million deaths in Gulags and 700,000 executions, for a total of two million, or perhaps three if we assume an underestimate. EDIT: I was thinking, perhaps a ten million figure could be reached if we include deaths by famine etc? That might be the source of your figure, not sure. Still, it might be a stretch to count deaths by famine as part of political terror - it seems that they are a very different source of deaths to judicial executions
