Nicely done. I love my 65 Galaxie 500 LTD. Full rotisserie restoration and a driver. They are a great driving car.

I had one in the early 70’s. Just like a motorcycle except you don’t have to remember to put your foot down at a stop 😂

You don't have to change rods and pistons either unless you want too if you add the 428 crank. You do if you use a 390 crank
@timr319083 ай бұрын
That's a really nice car and I would not settle for anything less than the 427 engine if you want to kick everybody's ass

I know the 64" Galaxie with a 390 4spd, was tons of fun doing burn outs. Its to bad the guy that owned it did not appreciate it until years later wished he had it back
@ervinthompson65984 ай бұрын
I believe you meant a 428 crank(IU) in the 390, that created the 410. Correct ??
@galaxieman10003 ай бұрын
Correct, I did a text overlay during that segment when I heard my senior moment.

428 crank in a 360 makes a 410
@galaxieman10003 ай бұрын
Yes@@t-rodzgarage The 360 block has the same bore as a 390. just add correct rods and pistons, shake and go!

That’s a sweet car. Where did u get the door panel brushed aluminum inserts. I have 64 I cloned into r code car. Door panels are good and handles and trim is good it’s just the four brushes aluminum panels that show their age. Thanks for the video. Old car guys are a dying group
@galaxieman10004 ай бұрын
Thanks. The door panel trim and aluminum inserts are original to the car and were only cleaned up.

Oh wow it’s a really clean interior then. Mine are scuffed a bit. I show my car but I can’t figure out how to. Think twice before you sell once it’s gone it’s gone. I’d never sell mine love her like the wife

Thank you, I have enjoyed this car very much and have put in a lot of effort, time, and money to make it what it is. A very reliable, powerful Ford Galaxie blast from the past but still to this day gets a lot of attention wherever I go. I call it my Rowdy Gal but surprisingly it still rides smoother than my 2007 Lincoln Town Car, just not as quiet. Should be up on Bring a Trailer soon.

Yes I agree, couldn't get a break any where and it was a Saturday morning! Oh well, I hope I got my point across that this car is great highway cruiser with its GearVendors overdrive.

As a man at the age of 76 I drove cars of this vintage, they went very well however stopping them was a different matter, I used to have nightmares even recently where I could not step on the brake pedal enough to stop them in time.

A lot of hype even a Hudson was a better car in 1953. You're paying for French styling. Seriously

I love the red interior. Neither the fuel gauge nor the water temperature gauge appear to be working here.

You are correct, both repaired before sold. Just typical faulty replacement parts you have to deal with when restoring cars these days.

I have owned a 1952 120 roadster for a few weeks shy of 50 years. I bought it as a wreck, spent 5 years restoring it and have never ever regretted owning it. It >> Always << was a pleasure to drive regardless of the weather. I have driven it to Le mans 20 times, down into the heart of France several times. Took it up to Scotland 3 years ago, 1760 miles without missing a beat. Fabulous car.
