So what was found about it not liking more timing?
@03yllwcobra3 ай бұрын
The timing was already advanced in the ECU, we didn’t find out later until we verified timing again .

Thanks for watching! Yeah I just hinted at it in the video when I put it was advanced a bit. Luckily we had enough fuel in it and that it was super strong motor!

I have a 800 wheel fox coupe on E85 or 93 with Ac and that’s about it. I try to drive it as much as possible as long as its not pouring outside. Its not for everyone but it is fun. About the only annoying thing is all the squids you run into on the street with their sport bikes and stock 5.0s or challengers that want to race you in heavy traffic. They go next to you and rev on the stock limiter and look at you like lets go, come on…. in five o clock traffic. idiots.

It’s amazing how you’re building an engine and don’t know how to read plastic gauge. It’s not 15 thousandths. It’s one and a half thousandths. The max service tolerance for those motors is .0035 which is three and a half thousandths not 35 thousandths.

Hey man what kinda belts and spark plugs are you running on your setup? I’m currently in the process of doing this to my 2003 torch red T-56 magnum swapped 6 speed mach1. It’s a ported earring and throttle body along with a smaller metco 2.7 pulley so I’m just trying to get some tips from your setup. That’s all

You would be surprised at the number of techs that never heard of plastic gauge and can't read it from the plastic. I had a low mileage engine from my son's truck, build a secure stand, ran it to clean injectors 8 times with my OTC Pressure pot and 10% ACDelco X-66P and regular gas. Having matched parts from a single donor vehicle, I put an 8k resistor on the BCM, connected to the PCM and did a re-learn in the driveway. I was able to test flow thru each injector with my Kent-Moore injector pulse tool and use an accurate pressure gauge. Then running my live oil pressure gauge to pass judgment on the entire oil system. With a compression test average of 165 PSI, I did not tear down the engine past the heads. The cam was OEM but selected a Summit Racing cam with good torque value and a few extra horse ponies. This mine and knew I was not racing but a daily driver & stock torque converter to get my 1967 C10 up off the line while getting excellent fuel mileage. This is me and my way, but each is different starting with final drive, positive locker and tire size. So start with a build sheet. This helps with what to pick, why and intended use! Knowing overdrive helps fuel economy with locking torque converter, I choose a 700R4 trans and spent 2-3 months on my bench building it. Remember, I am retired and have other stuff to do, but throwing $3k in parts sounded crazy so I chose the best bang for the buck. ACDelco 5-pinion planetaries, donned, Alto Red Eagle w/Kolene plates, superior servos, ACDelco captured check balls, leak checking with not air, but a 50/50 mix of ATF & Solvent & replacing little parts most shops don't check. Junior shift kit, separator plate that is best, and ending up with rollerized (Less internal loss) higher clamping pressures plus hydraulic/spring controlled lockup. Wider bushing and 9 plates instead of factory 5/6, clutch pack end plate clearance and sonnex sun shell instead of the "Beast" are all carefully chosen matched parts. Heat is a trans downfall, so using a PTC thermistor in the pan, an used wire the goes to a gauge, allowed me to use an A/C condenser that handles 400+ PSI using extruded tubing and a 12Vdc fan all controlled by a single controller with on/off temps in a digital format placed this skinny unit under the bed with two short hoses. A scoop pan picks up air and dumps it thru louvers underneath making it quiet, efficient and accurate. All of my thrifty measures allowed budge room for Borla Exhaust system at 2.5" according David Vizard's chart is perfect for duals with low pack pressure. Call me crazy, but my custom center console uses factory front door switches, that give me lock control, light control, RKE, power windows and much more. The BCM, PCM & TAC modules are stacked together pointing toward the sky for easy diagnostics and future service. The center console comes out with one hand as magnets hold it place with a slight friction fit from wrapping in leather. I re-purposed an off-set "Tee" handle shifter with a single butting release from brake/park release that came to us via Audi 5000 that took off crashing and blamed drivers. Because I am 6'3" and my wife is 5'7" I used the GM adjustable pedal assemble with power seats. So, she can feel comfortable as she hated large vehicles but drives her Malibu, but now feels the truck is nice. If I can get nice, I have accomplished something! Enjoyed the "LS" build as many learn for others experience! Thank you! Have a safe 2023! That still sound weird! DK, ASE master tech since 78, retired!
