Looks good! Between this vid and a similar one from Miniature Hobbyist, I definitely am hooked on getting one for MDF terrain (Necromunda and 40k) once things get better for me and work. Really love how you made your template & testing pieces. Thanks!

I recently pulled the trigger on one of these too. Hasn't arrived yet though. I wanted one for a long time but what stopped me was safety issues. I don't trust a open laser even with goggles and just low power.

Aye this thing is decent! All you get with the enclosure is a hint of a smell, but I'm a trained woodsmith, I love that smell. The extraction does a great job!

Thanks for this video. I have an older Crealty Falcon 2 laser engraver , without the encloser or camera. You have made it easier to get back into.
@WulvenKraft5 күн бұрын
The camera is not needed at all but I guess that just my Woodsmith knowledge 🤣. I wouldn't have even considered using this without the enclosure but I don't have a dedicated space for wood working. They do do a canvas enclosure for the original Falcon. Good luck!

@WulvenKraft28 күн бұрын
I have always used wooden canvas' of some variety for boards, far more convenient & often cheaper. That said I am looking at making some in the future based on the same principle of being able to hang them on a wall.

how did you make the floor?
@WulvenKraftАй бұрын
Do you mean the wooden panels? If so I didn't, they are Artists Wooden Canvas'. Readily available, cheap & make the process easier & quicker. If you mean the stone work & roads, it's just cut foam & very thin cork sheets.

Why do the end of your vids cut off like they do?
@WulvenKraftАй бұрын
I'm not overly keen on the whole 'glamour shots ending' as you've been watching build through the video & they about the build not the painting. I also find ending the videos difficult verbally as I'm not comfortable with the whole like share subscribe routine. Plus the way that KZbin operates with the suggested video at the end from a editing point of view, I don't like just leaving the last frame hanging around for 15-20 seconds, as a viewer I find that lazy & because we can choose the timing that those appear I try & time it so they pop up as my video cuts. Then there are also retention issues, another reason I'm not keen on glamour shots. The moment a viewer knows the video is ending they leave & often don't see the end screens so don't see related videos. My videos that cut tend to have better CTR rates on end screens.
@BoonedaleАй бұрын
@@WulvenKraft It's extreamly abrupt the way the vids end though. Abruptly and jagged actually.
@WulvenKraftАй бұрын
@@Boonedale Maybe, but it is worth knowing your are talking about a video from a year ago & all the experience I have editing is on KZbin. 16 Videos isn't many & I am learning with every one.

These look like the same templates from your ruined city gaming board video from a while back. I still have mine, are there any new templates in this or will I be good using the ones from the last time? Looks great, can't wait to see what's next! P.S. if you ever get the urge to turn that fractal battlemap concept into infinitely modular trench game boards, I'll be there waiting for you 😂 l. You inspired my first ever diy terrain, thanks for opening me up to this side of the hobby. Cheers, mate!
@WulvenKraftАй бұрын
They are the very same templates with very minor modifications to suit this project. That's why I printed the paper version. You could very easily do the design work just using the paper templates to see where you would want to make adjustments. That last paragraph has made my day!
