What is amazing about this? Using a caliber to scratch the steel? I did this in my first year as an apprentice, my “Meister” saw this and yelled at me. And then he showed me to do it right.

Maybe it might be off the topic but am i the one who thinks that the sound of that metal sheet when he rotates the tool sounds like ruler from Baldi's Basics in Education & Learning while he's moving ?

Yes, some cutting edges for turning tools can be made from a solid hard steel milling cutter! Saves money! Bravo!

Well if not having a swiss Turn type machine, and being without tailstock. and only have to make 1-10 pieces. I would proberly do the same. The bar he is making it of, is that size to make sure it is stabel enough. So the part can be controlled, and not deflect of when turning it.
