Did you have to get a master in nursing in order to do midwifery school? & can I ask what was the length of your program?

So the midwifery program is my master's. I only had to have a bachelor's prior to starting. My program was about 2 years give or take credits needed.

Hi Aysia!!! Fellow DNP here!!! I've been following your channel for a few weeks now... Girl... You got this!!! I was in a BSN-DNP program. I graduated with my DNP in 2022. I dual specialized in Family & Pediatric NP. I was in a Full Time Program, 4 Years, No semesters off. Full time work x3 years then went PRN. I too am a single mother! My son is going to be 8 soon (= These programs are not for the weak! When I tell you you GOT THIS YOU GOT THIS!!!! You are so close!!! Just know I'm rootin for you! I have a good friend that graduated as a Nurse Midwife. So I know the program struggles too well. She actually had to complete additional clinical hours L&D during the program because she only had a Med Surg Background. Keep Pushing! The reward is SO MUCH greater than the struggle!! ❤

the 5am comment has me cracking up. I work day shift ,but I used to work night shift and my eyes start to cross from exhaustion around that 5am hr . Plus I had a 1 year old and 3 year old who didnt go to school during the day so I wasnt getting adequate sleep.

Hey would you please tell that does height matters in travel nursing? I'm 5.1" , also is travel nursing & flight nursing the same?

I'm 5'0 and it wasn't a problem! But I was contracted through a hospital specifically and not like a fleet, so that would be something to ask the specific job. Also no, flight nursing is a nurse that does air transports and travel nursing is a nurse that takes contracts in different states/ hospitals through an agency. If you google it should help :)

Thank you for sharing! How do you balance being a mom, working, and doing midwifery school? This seems so hard. I am about to start nursing school and want to ultimately become a midwife but I'm worried about how I can do this with young kids.

it’s SO EXTREMELY HARD. That’s why I went to PRN during clinicals, it’s wild. my best advice would be priorities. Decide what’s most important. Last summer for me it was making money, so I took the highest paying travel contract & studies just kind of was on the back burner, this summer it’s studies so travel pay isn’t as important. If you decide what matters most you can divy up your time accordingly. Hope that helps! 💕

As a black CRNA who has consistently maintained a 4.0 throughout my academic journey (always had pride being ghetto while being the best student in my class so I can pop my shit), I studied everyday for at least 2-4 hours per day! Also, I’ve always maintained PT/FT employment for context. Before each test or exam, I always review my study guide. Make your notes pretty, that really helped me stay focused with my ADHD. Keep pushing, consistency/repetition is the keys to success while in college.
