UPDATE 12/28/2024 Garrett Vortex order has been cancelled! I must admit this is the first time I ever canceled a metal detector order but do to the overwhelming issues with this machine i have decided to pass! Maybe Garrett will be able to fix the issues with this detector but for now I have decided to pass on this machine!

Not sure what Garrett engineers were thinking, but it looks just like a waterproofed apex..... Maybe if they copied minelabs multifrequency and put it inside a good waterproof enclosure similar to the At pro, maybe they would have stood a fighting chance.

My manticore found a pulltab over 18 inches deep. Maybe even 24 inches. I never had a machine that went so deep that I could not recover some targets. 4 the other day, they sounded good too!
@NHbeachmetaldetectingАй бұрын
i was digging 16 inch signals in the water with the Manticore this past summer! super super deep just with the 11 inch stock coil!

Manticore, all the way that Garrett looks terrible.

I thought about the GTi back in the day, But Something told me not to buy one. So I went with a Tracker 4 and it did me good other then buying 9v's all the time.. This Vortex well Not even on my radar. But I will watch people who use it just for being curious... Thanks for sharing... Peace

I definitely won't be buying one. Just picked up a Manticore and pretty excited about learning it!

Its a great machine the target trace id scale is excellent and its VDI is accurate to depth! it edges out the D2 but both are the top 2 right now!

friends don't let friends buy Garrett. The CZ-20 and 21 and Minelabs are it really

I agree with everything you said, but also wonder why any of us would think Garrett would innovate anything, lol. I got my first Garrett in 1973, plain Jane TR. I think the AT pro was the best bang for buck at the time, only because it was waterproof, but horrible ergonomics. Thanks for saving us a lot of money and frustration

I thought the Sovereign patents ran out? Also, xp came out with D2 similar time. It’s sad because we’re rooting for Garrett, white’s crapped out and failed miserably with the beachunter ID and V3i. Fisher never improved the CZ machines, was really rooting for them too?

Those antique rings are the best. The modern crap is hollowed out junk, even if they are 14 or 18K. The quality was so much better back then. Love that old stuff!!! Annealing those old 10K rings might prevent them from being so fragile. What an awesome year you and Susan have had. Congrats!!!!

Your beach hunts are always top notch. Primarily, those historical areas you hunt seem to give such interesting finds. Also, your generosity and willingness to share tidbits of your knowledge. That's priceless, and in part, it's another reason I enjoy your channel so much. Finally I enjoy the recaps of your hunts. Even when you've had a slow day, it's still interesting, because you usually go into the reasons why. Looking forward to your next adventure! 👍

I won't get rid of my CTX either. I've had 3 roto cuff surgeries so it sits alot but it's a great machine! Love your channel very cool watching all the older rings Susan and you find. Here on the OBX we don't see alot of the older rings wasn't much happening swimming wise until the 1940s when the military came. ATB👍🦀

I just wish they would have put tge Explorer in a waterproof housing. I liked the 3030, but didn’t care for everything being on tgat 12 scale. I loved the smartfind screen on my explorers, I could tell so much more about the targets from the screen. Iron to the left, low conductors lower, high conductors higher, etc. quarter, upper right, etc.

What a great year you've had, but It's hard when Mother Nature shuts the door on you.That's when patience and perseverance and experience helps you to keep going to find other spots .I love your genuine true to life beach videos and the fact you are so willing to pass on your experience and knowledge of reading the beaches . Keep on going because there is always somewhere where the sands are low . Peat and grey clay areas are my absolute favourite! Love the cake and Happy birthday to Susan , thanks for sharing your beach adventures ,its exciting to see what winter storms will bring !
