We've dragged lines in on some local trips that would have been excellent to stay later but for the lack of a place to take a break, ended it sooner than it could have been. Yes, I can see it getting stuffy. Good advice! We'll look into the screens!

It will probably be over the winter towards spring before we hitch the van also. Not a warranty issue but it's so late in the season now and real life things going on it probably won't happen until later in the year. We may "ease" the old blazer down to the lake with the boat another trip this year, maybe. it's still registered and everything, that frame break is kinda not really in a critical place. But it's still broken and any frame break is critical so am really thinking about that. BUT- we are not done fishing for the year. The venue may be different but certainly not done outdoors for the year. ;)

Thank You! I've been impressed with Toyotas for a number of years now. Our son works at a Toyota engine/transmission plant in W. Va in quality control/testing. Started on regular line work in the beginning and worked up and of course believe him when he says they are built for the most trouble free long haul. The minivan- We've had pickups, cool. But what we haul we want secured and out of the elements. The variations in passenger and cargo is key. The clincher- we rented from Enterprise for a trip and not having our preferred size car on the lot they bumped us up to a minivan for the same rate. After a few hundred miles a minivan became a real consideration.

We did not. Had every plan on it but discovered I have a broken frame on the old trailblazer. Spent the weekend shopping and buying a new vehicle and decided it was probably best to not tow with the old one in the meantime.

Yes, we have a routine. Checklists for checklists even. Once in awhile everything gets so automatic that one doesn't realize something is amiss when like yours one doesn't pick up on something out of place or missing.

Me too. Last year we forgot some important things on the one camping/fishing trip. Wrecked the whole trip for me even tho the camping part was good to go, still forgot some important things.

We did not get to go out. A rather unexpected thing came up and concentrated on a replacement vehicle instead. We have found such a replacement and taking delivery on Tuesday afternoon. ;)

@@tinyboatfishing1 had one of those going myself yesterday. I tied on a whopper plopper at the end of the day out of desperation. Then BOOM! I caught one that had a mouth the size of a saucer. It was mammoth.

Had 2 bass swimming back and forth at my feet, about a pound each. They were annoyed when I dropped a bait in front of them. Ungrateful things anyway. lol.

We're usually quite thorough and overkill on the safety and required items. Usually. A couple little well intended snafus caught us short this time.

@@tinyboatfishing1 Everybody has days like that where sh*t just seems to be the word of the day. Funny how they often seem to string together though one after the other. I usually just power through them, unless something in my gut really tells me, just go home.

That's a great little lake. I prefer night fishing there over day. And there are some nice fish in there. Congrats to your wife! And I've been skunked by my wife a time or two there also. lol.

You are right, finding anything on this model is scarce. We have had it in the rain and it's quite watertight and holds warmth well in cold weather. The only thing we haven't used it in is snow because getting a good snow at the right time when able to go camping has eluded us.

Yes it did. She kept asking me what kind it was. I was afraid to commit an answer and embarrass myself as I had no idea. 'Officially' there are only channels in there. But that head- and so disproportionate to the body.

We traditionally have a large family camping trip the week after the 4th. Son and daughter-in-law hasn't had a honeymoon as yet and they took the opportunity of his week off work for their semi-annual shutdown to do their honeymoon. That didn't go as planned either. 300 miles from home in Kentucky they stopped at the end of an exit ramp and the car died. Some sensor/electronic problem. But we got the granddaughter for 6 days and all is great. They live in West Virginia and time, work schedules and distance we don't get to see her or them as often as we'd like. And Abby, we get pretty much every day, same, moms work schedule. But anytime we get either one or both is always a special treat.

I did not get a shot. Called the minute clinics and around and they wanted appointments for a week out and I figured well, ride it out if it's going to be that long. lol. No ill effects tho. Couple spots still from entry and exit points but all is good.

I love tomato soup since a little kid. Always took a thermos to the pond as a kid. One of the old plastic thermoses with the silver glass lining that shattered if you looked at it wrong. lol. But it just seems "right" to have one every outing.

I hate those little tiny firebrands. Can't hardly get a hold on them to dehook them.
