@Herron78 The Buckeyes had 12/14 draft graded starters return, that's culture brother, that's unfinished business! UM is gonna have a say in Big Ten championships this decade, but they won't have a seat at the table this year. We brought in 7 transfers, not all will be starters this year. It's how the game is played now and why UM doubled it's NIL staff this off-season. Adapt or get left behind.

That’s big difference between Michigan/ osu. Michigan getting coached up better and developing better than osu right now.

@Herron78 It should be an interesting watch this season with a likely rematch in the Big Ten Title game, depending on the what the Big Ten's tiebreaker rules are. Downs is probably our best player but he's getting added to what was the nation's #2 defense last year, statistically, with studs all around him. Emeka Egbuka with just 942 yards this season will become OSU's all time leading receiver. Development wise, that was true of your former staff, not the current one. Only 4 coaches were retained. Time will tell with this new regime. Gonna be a fun season to watch unfold, as always! Go Bucks!

Easy on the Irish man. Notre Dame wasn't supposed to win even 9 games in 2012, and they did much better than everyone expected and a Kansas State and Oregon choked badly. Nobody would've beaten Bama that night, and Notre Dame was undersized. Cut that Notre Dame team some slack. 2018 Notre Dame team did everything they needed to do, not like they went in there with a loss. Also, Ohio State screwed themselves at Purdue with that awful performance. Keep in mind, Clemson was smacking everyone around including Alabama that season. Notre Dame wasn't "babied" in 2012 and 2018, they had to go undefeated on their schedule both times, and ran into the best team both times. If they lost in the regular season during those years, yeah I see where they got "babied". But they weren't though.

@DCSk8er529 That 2012 run with Teo was magical and the story of the season, for sure. You definitely earned your seat at the table in both of those years. More so going in on the preseaspn love they always get, whether warranted or not. I do think a 10-2 Irish team will get in nearly every time, for numbers and ratings. I'm looking forward to that Florida St vs Notre Dame game later this season.

I think Notre Dame can only lose 1 game. They lose 2 They're out . I'm not sold on FSU. They're not beating ND with DJ-U at quarterback. Notre Dame has him down, and it's in South Bend in November. They don't want none in November.

Being an Irish fan and living in South Bend it would be a sight to see. You could bet downtown South Bend, and the Michigan border will have traffic backed up like crazy if that happens.

@RichSDet While true, 11 draft eligible players opted to return to this team because of the brotherhood. This is the best staff that Day has organized. Talent combined with chemistry and good leadership and a hint of luck is what brings home championships. A lot on the line for the Bucks this year

I'm stuck on Penn State. James Franklin doesn't even have to beat Michigan or Ohio State to make the playoffs now and I feel like that'll save Franklin's job considering the amount of competition coming into the conference now.

I could see Penn St making it 2/3 out of every five years now depending on their B1G opponents. They've got a huge opportunity this year to step up and change the national perception of the program

Nice list BUT the 3 programs that benefit the most this year are Ohio State, Florida State and Georgia. All 3 missed playoffs last year and this year their chances go up cuz even if they fail to win their conferences (as 2 of the 3 did last year) even if they lose a game or 2 they could get a bid. FSU if they run the table they are in this year unlike last year so the answer for 2024 is the above 3.

@jaminabbey8640 the rivalry always has been and always will be a 24/7/365 thing. To say a rival isn't on the others mind is to not understand rivalries and how they work. Both programs have countdown clocks, signs all over their facilities about what they did to beat their rival today, etc.

You Bucks are funny. Texas got pushed around by Washington, Washington was never a real threat in that national championship game. We won the title on our second possession. Our defense wrecks havoc on our lineman with our twists and stunts. And offense will shock people this year. I think we will run power in the first half’s then use or speedy receivers in the second. @jovaunroyal6882 Washington and Michigan run drastically different offenses. Texas returns 8 defensive starters from a defense that allowed under 19 points per game in an offensive driven league. Oklahoma and UW did well against them with pass happy offenses, something UM doesn't possess. They lost a few DL which is concerning going up against UM's OL.

@jwb4925 We addressed this. Your backups played a lot, but against backups. We'll see how they perform as starters against other teams starters. A lot of questions will be answered about UM in the first month of the season.

Texas is gonna be up against it for one there playing on the road going up against an elite defense. Texas lost alot in the draft who are there go to recievers, whos there rb ? Nobody can name any skill players on Texas besides Quin Ewers. They dont have a strong defense either

@ajsouthward961 Sure they lost Xavier Worthy and Jonathon Brooks. But they return Adonai Mitchell who had 850 yards receiving last year. CJ Baxter also rushed for 680 yards backing up Brooks. They're not lacking for skill players. Thei4 defense only surrendered under 19 PPG in a offensive driven league and return 8 starters on that defense.

You guys talked so much on QB play when Michigan isn’t even a QB driven team. It’s all about the trenches when it comes to Michigan. If Michigan is better upfront on both sides of the ball (which I believe they are) Michigan wins it’s that simple.

Everyone down on Michigan! They have a beast of a program right now. Well coached, disciplined, and best developed school right now. Them boys are a team, use all that negativity as fuel. Very physical. And they not a bunch of individuals like other schools.
