I'm the current high bidder and have absolutely no illusions about buying this car for $52500 plus fees, its worth bundles more as any sane person would agree. But you have to be in it to win it, that's my experience anyway. Don't those 1-tonne ute's have horrible leaf-spring rear suspension and live axles? Is that retained? If so, I really wouldn't want to drive it with that much (or any) power. Good looking though.

Mike Devereux MD of Holden at the time suggested it wouldn't be a top 10 seller- so not worth it to build. A$$hole.

It has correct matte black stripes, but the rear under the lip is meant to be as well.

This car might have started out as a HR Ute but there's almost nothing left of the original car. If you like HR utes this wont appeal to alot of people. I can certainly appreciate the massive amount of time and work involved but I really don't like it, not as an HR Ute..

Im baffled who would buy this .Cant be registered or used and already someone elses show car that has done the rounds of shows it will always be someones elses car. Great show piece but i cannot think of why you would buy it and what do you do with it? No doubt these mysterious bidders will bid it up but I would think there are very very few genuine people that would spend big money buying , storing and insuring something so useless to sit in their back shed.

Any ideas what it will fetch ?
