We have clear covers on top of the hatch which we can see if anything was wrong without opening the hatch. There was nothing to see and even if we had opened the hatch, visually all was ok. The damage was inside the transom drive shield.

If I recall correctly, no one got up to look before the decision to turn around, unless that part was edited out. The decision was the right one though.@@RevengerRibs

He is a new throttleman, this was our first big race so we took it very easy at the start, there was a long way to go.

Yeah the sinking feeling far from safety, not knowing where the hole is is horrible. Getting to port and knowing you have to take it all apart ain't that great either. Was this a symptom of your drive problems this year or the route cause?

Sorry to see guys after a good start this situation is dejavu fie me in 91 was doing the cancer research powerboat race in a phantom and hit sumthin then same as you came in and sinking just managed to beach at RMYC in time 😮

Great vid, great sound from the V8s, and intrigued by the one handed steering….

Hi Steve. Thanks for your comment and the reasons for the one handed steering is firstly, Uno is an easy boat to steer, so precise and tracks very well and by holding onto the screen rail it relieved my right elbow from constantly hitting the bolster with very little padding, soon to be rectified.

@@steve_unohoo yes indeed Steve. We have a few modifications to do over the winter but looking forward to next season's racing calendar.
