Love these big sport tourers. Ive had nakeds and adventure bikes, they're great, but have moved to a FJR 1300 and couldn't be happier. Just love the all day comfort and power. Those GTR's are beautiful, to me they make alot of sense if you're not going off road.

The Ninja 650 is actually a sport bike, a sport touring bike to be specific. The term you're looking for is super sport, which it definitely is not. Also, you must not be familiar with motorcycle pricing if you believe 7 or 8 grand for a 650 is overpriced.

Enjoying your tour.. just a quick one, how are you mounting your devices? You’ve probably done a separate video? I’ve got a GTR1400 (recent purchase), they’re a bit awkward for device mounts. I’ve got a quadL that fastens to brake mounting but it’s too close for me. You appear to have something centered?

@@svenwhothehell5980 thanks for checking out the videos. I went to AliExpress and purchased a handle bar extension mount. It goes on the end of the bar inside and gives you a few inches of space to place mounts. It's the only thing I could find that would work on the GTR. @@geoffcrossley8344 so I ride the RT daily and it's a fantastic bike however, the K1600 is far smoother, more power and a better ride. Given the choice, I would chose the K1600 if I were to do a lot of distance, but I would chose the RT if I didn't and just done distance every now and again.

Did 13500 kilometres end of October into November about four weeks, on my 2010 GTR, from near Perth WA to Cairns in Queensland through the blue mountains back to Perth. through extreme heat (42C +) and thunderstorms, had a tyre change in Cairns due to rear tyre looking like a car tyre ( square ) and the front deformed due to heat and some long straight roads, that was the only problem I had. My bike now has approx. 120000 ks on it now, fantastic it is

I started watching the video and was like, no traction control? It's from 2007, that makes complete sense! My own GTR is from 2011 and has linked brakes, abs and traction control, bought it in February of this year with 25000km on it, it's just great. It looks great, it drives great, it sounds great and it has great fuel consumption, it loves drinking fuel when you open that throttle but there's nothing on that bike i would want to change. Aside from cruise control, everything else is just perfect. Obviously it's also an old bike by now, 13 years old so i've changed the indicators to led switchbacks and led headlights and the works but aside from that it retains its old but slightly modern look. But for power? It has a shaft drive which cuts down some of its power but it's barely noticeable when you want to experience all the bike has to offer.
