The beer might be the shittiest uve ever tasted but it gives you no right to joke about the genocide that happened in Kosovo and be goofy about it? I said again fuck the beer, but respect other countries that totally didn't do shit to you. Joking about the beer is totally fine it sucks and Kosovo is one of the most corrupted countries so it literally might not be clean because no one checks up on them. Coming directly from an kosovar, rock and metal fan too.

I picked up the books at the Franklin Museum today. The photography is Unbelievable! I can't imagine the time and effort it took to produce these 3 books. Definitely a value for the money spent. A must have for the Franklin and Sterling collector. Great job by all involved!

As someone who suffered through the frustrations and horrors of film photography for many years before the advent of digital stuff (guys, you don't know how lucky you are!😁), I find it especially pleasing that these 'obsolete' lenses have found a new role in modern macro photography. One other thing worth mentioning is that these lenses work brilliantly when reversed with either bellows or extension tubes. With a little ingenuity and patience (and some £3 adaptor rings from eBay) it's possible to create an extremely powerful 1.5x, 2x or even 3x macro setup for under £50. Amazing! Of course, a dedicated macro lens will give you far greater flexibility - especially in terms of working distance if you're stalking little creepy dudes out in the field - but I can't afford such nice things. Although I'm a complete novice at macro photography, I've got some very pleasing results with reversed enlarger lenses. I'm currently experimenting with image stacking. This is a great hobby! 🐜

A little advise: if you wanna make it really seem like GLaDOS is in this scene, you can do this thing where you use something to block the light, then you take that footage of the big shadow and draw a mask underneath GLaDOS, then it'll look like GLaDOS is casting a shadow.

I just started rock collecting last year in my beautiful home state of Arizona. It's unfortunate to hear that my favorite rock, gem chrysocolla, had been all mined out and impossible to find, and I'll probably never even see some in real life. Very cool rocks sir.

I hate to see people dislike something like this. Mr King was generous enough to share his knowledge, which appeals to both collectors and geologists alike. I am very thankful for his work both here and as an author. We are the next generation of collectors that must continue the work of these great people.

'This cluster of zincites...' - does this refer to the 'stepped-zincite,' under discussion, central? The [relatively] large 'stepped-zincite,' could you explain in layman's terms how that formed? Please don't go too deep on the explanation, I should not wish to waste your time. Is it a cluster, or a single crystal with fractures? Is it damaged, or did it grow in this fashion?

The distance of the lens from the sensor controls degree of magnification NOT focus. Focus is controlled by moving the assembly closer/further from the subject or moving the subject closer/further from the camera. Don't adjust focus with bellows extension or amount of extension tubes. They are only for adjustments to the amount of magnification.
@cmoore77234 жыл бұрын
Unless I missed it, you never mentioned that the amount of lens extension correlates directly to the amount of image magnification. The further away from the sensor the lens is the greater the magnification and the shallower the depth of field is at a given f-stop. Also, as the extension increases the problem with diffraction becomes severe - especially at smaller apertures.
@cmoore77234 жыл бұрын
Frankly, I'm quite surprised that you never made mention of the use of lens reversing rings/adapters! In order to preserve the distance relationships that enlarging lenses were designed for the distance from the lens to the subject should be less than the distance from the lens to the sensor. That will also increase the magnification for a given focal length and extension. This is an important point and shouldn't have been omitted.
