I've worked as an editor for nearly a decade (first staff gig in 2015) and come back to your channel constantly for direction. You were creating a living textbook when you made these.

This compilation lives rent free in my head and I still listen to some of the songs used in this. This was a time period for legendary movies IMO.

Glad to see it's back up, I enjoy this video so much and my friends enjoy the nostalgic feeling.

Even though I'm just catching this 13 years later this is still an awesome edit well done!

Hello! I come from the world of Anime Music Videos (AMV), which people generally look down upon, but hear me out. I just want to pay tribute to this video, which sparked my inspiration to create the "Animegraphy" series (search youtube for it). It was a more or less a shameless ripoff that started with me watching this montage. A lot of the editing techniques I did for that video series I drew from this one. For example, the match cut transitions was inspired directly from the sequence from 0:58 to 0:59. The idea of adding sound effects to match the song beats was also something I did because I saw this video do it first. What I've noticed is that the videos I've made have been pretty influential in and of themselves in the anime editing community. Before I made them, nobody was really doing match cut transitions, and sound effects were very rare. Nowaways, EVERYBODY does them (search for any super popular AMV made in the last 3 years), and at the risk of sounding conceited, I may have set the trend for that. Crazy to think that all of that stemmed from this video.

Gen, please make another one and keep making these. They are awesome. I keep coming back to this one.

Sometimes i randomly hear something or think of something and immediately know what's next in the compilation. As if you've recorded an album on a cassette tape and recognize the exact point on the album where you have to flip over the tape. "It's not a gift Billy, It's a curse" and "It's not a compliment, Gary" live in my head because of this.
