That shot didn’t even need slow motion. It was already in slow motion.

@@cjagimnz oh. Oops. Thanks for the correction. Roy Steele, known as the Voice of God, was the longtime announcer for the Oakland Athletics and retired in 2005. I had originally credited this short to him.

Awesome review and perspective. You are very well spoken and articulate, your small pauses are worth it, your words are considered and deliberate. I will be retiring to this video after my next reread. I highly recommend The Possibility of an Island if you have not read it.

Finished this book a week ago and enjoyed it but didn’t give it too much thought afterwards. A couple days later my body woke me up at 5am and I just could not get this book out of my mind for the whole day. This story definitely did something to me whether I knew it or not

While up there, one time(, to cover one of the Anti-Iraq War protests, as I recall) - I was out surfing Ocean Beach, as a storm moved down towards the Golden Gate, from the Marin side. As things developed we were all sitting in the lineup when a bolt of lighting came arc-ing down towards where we were sitting. Right before we were gonna be fried, it bent back upwards, over us and into the fog bank above and behind us on the hill. It hit Sutro Tower and lit it up through the dense fog or clouds. It was incredibly loud, fractions of a second later, when we heard the thunder's roar.
