@@dream.plan.do.travel Got it, thank you so much! Will I only need a reservation for the train from Termini to Naples?
@dream.plan.do.travel8 ай бұрын
@@KristinSch4562 yes, you will need reservation from Termini to Naples. It is a lovely train. The one from Naples to Sorrento is more of a commuter train and it is an experience as the train was not like the Rome-Naples train. When we went, they had staff who escorted all the tourists downstairs to catch the train to Sorrento on Garibaldi train tracks. Am sure you will find more info if you look that up. It was MUCH cheaper than renting a ride pickup. Our hotel in Sorrento was a close walk to the train station. Having a sense of adventure makes these trips awesome. Enjoy.
@dream.plan.do.travel8 ай бұрын
@@KristinSch4562 Here is a post and info I wrote in an Italy travel Facebook group explaining the trip… Naples to Sorrento and then to Florence on the train. I have read a lot about some concern re travelling in Italy and particularly to Sorrento via train. It isn’t that hard. Trust me (thank you to my wonderful navigating husband…. I can get lost in a paper bag). We arrived in Naples from Rome on the Frecciarossa. It can be a little intimidating coming into a bustling station with so many people. Just stay calm and LOOK like you know what you are doing. Make your way downstairs to the lower level to the Garibaldi station, walk all the way down the corridor to where you catch the Campina or the Circumvisuvia to travel to Sorrento. We chose to spend a little extra money and take the Campina Express. Benefits of this is there are guides who will take you down to the trains platform and they make sure you get on the train, less crowded, fewer stops. This service is for tourists. If you are a seasoned traveller and don’t mind being shoved in a busy, hot car with lots of day locals (some risk of pickpockets there) go for the cheaper option. We paid 50 EUR total return for 2 for reserved tickets on the Campina and for us money well spent. There isn’t much of a difference in trains, however. Just less stops, far less crowded and with friendly staff to assist. There is NO place to put your luggage and you are sitting on stiff plastic seats. This isn’t first class. Make sure you toilet prior to getting on the train. It is more like a subway train. 😉. When you reserve your ticket for the Campina Express you are assigned seat numbers. Some trains have seat numbers, others don’t (as we found out on our return trip so we just sat at the back of the train in a quiet area. Everyone tends to find the closest seat as soon as they get on the train.) Sit back and relax and in a short time you will be in Sorrento. A very small station and short walk to the lovely town.

There are so many museums that have Century Series fighters and F-4s. Doesn’t make sense to travel to Dayton to see those when wonderful examples are available just a day trip away. Unless it is a unique article. For example, the museum in McMinnville, OR has the sole example of a J-79 powered F-101. And the San Diego Air and Space Museum has one of the 3 Convair Sea Darts. Pensacola or Huntsville will be next on my list. Or maybe Cape Kennedy. Or . . .
