Hey, wanted to say great work! Small trick for panel lining from folks that do Star Trek models, if you put a clear coat on the model prior to panel lining, you can then apply the ink and clean up smears without damaging the underlying paint. Follow up with another clear coat to seal the panel lining in. Makes it a heck of a lot easier.

For someone who has never done any gunpla before, how foolish would it be to attempt this? Without the customization.
@ElekLamoureux4 күн бұрын
Not at all! I recently made one of my own, and although ive done many other gunpla in the past, the PGU was surprisingly easy to build, the pieces are large, and the build is made easy by great instructions, although I would recommend good nippers and some sort of way to sand down nub marks... That's really all you need to make a great looking gunpla. And it's 100 percent worth the money

I got one of tool from gumprimer? or something which focuses on removing marks. I endup with not using it. You have to paint on the top of model orhewise.

You pretty much need all tools I used in the video if you do custom build. Probably better to stick with straight build otherwise.

Hi Potan, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve seen this video since its release and I still find myself enjoying it every now and then, it is really well-made. Do you mind sharing (if you remember) your camera gear, also did you use any sliders/gimbals to make the moving/panned shots at the ending, or was it just editing in post-production? Thank you!
@PotanCreates21 күн бұрын
Hello, thank you for the kind words. I do not own sliders but I mainly use a gimbal or handheld for the camera moves. Those moves are honestly very complex, sometimes I do pan in the post-production, and sometimes it's done when I move the camera. It’s quite depends on what I want to achieve from time to time. So I don’t even remember how I did it in most cases. However, that is the margin where I come up with new random moves I never thought of.

Hi. Really nice video! Sorry for the ignorance. But this Gundam Kit must be painted or you did it to get the most of it? Im tjinking on buying it, but since is my first one i prefer it if is already painted(at least for now) thanks!
@PotanCreatesАй бұрын
No painting isn’t mandatory, also you can call it it’s already painted since all the parts are color-coded. It’s looking good already by itself without the paint job👌

Is it commonplace for Gunpla fans to cut out every single piece from the runner before assembly? Am I weird for literally searching for the runner i need and the piece needed as I go from step to step?

I see that you use a different nipper for the first cut, since the part is not yet free, there are greater stresses on the nipper. Do you recommend a dual blade nipper for this first cut? Before finishing with the single blade SPN-120? I cannot tell what the first nipper you are using is.
@PotanCreatesАй бұрын
Thank you, That is the ordinal Tamiya nipper, I use a different nipper for upcoming ones anything works. Ultimate nipper is relatively fragile you should stick with double durable one to cut off from runners.
@henry3397Ай бұрын
Bro I finally sat down to watch the video in full, incredible work, very thorough and this is how I would want to ideally do a build. I have a couple questions though: 1. Do you sand and paint all the inner frame pieces? Or only the ones you did in the metallic color? 2. Why do you not apply a gloss coat after painting to help with panel lining and decal application? It would also protect your paint job during cleanup of panel liner spills
@PotanCreatesАй бұрын
Hello, thank you so much. 1. I didn’t sand anything inside for the time sake, but you can spend as much time as you want. 2. I haven’t watched video so I do not know if I waved the sequence but I splayed super smooth clear which can protect pnel line paints. Hope that helpes👌
