beside the fact I'm certain Goshin Jitsu is the name of a kata in Kodokan Judo, Judo came from Jujitsu which that particular kata reflects. This looks pretty much just like a well run Jujitsu school. WJJF teaches similar stuff but alot of modern day instructors don't practice randori enough like the guys in this video do.

Wow, this is impressive. Seeing this gets me really excited because I plan on taking karate soon and the instructor says the style he teaches is Sansei Shito Ryu with Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu and Dento Ryu Kobudo. This is an amazing demonstration, thank you.

Depending on how you look at it both require technique. If you are talking about a wrestling takedown like a single or double leg takedown then they require technique to be the most effective. If you are talking about a flat out tackle then that is more power, but I am sure football players practice the finer details of making it effective.

This looks more like a karate hybrid than jujitsu. If it's jujitsu, then it's definitely overkill. There's no need for this excessive deployment of force to execute a jujitsu technique in a properly trained individual. Moreover, it's a waste of energy, especially if having to deal with more than one individual.

thats not traditional jujitsu, its a western hybrid.Even in japan ,most jujitsu schools arent classical anymore, thats almost dead art.Traditional jujitsu was learned and practised almost entirely through kata,no sparring, thats why kano started judo.

thats entirely incorrect,by doing that he'll hinder your ability to practise the tech properly because fatigue impedes coordination.New skills are alwys learned when completely fresh.Very well learned skills can be done fatigued to battle harden them.

One way my trainer makes us focus on technique is to make us do lots of workout before the start of training to tire us out that we wouldn't use too much muscle strength.

Traditional Ju Jitsu (at least in the UK) does have competitions, one catagory is continuous fighting which is essentially 1 minute of kickboxing, 1 minute of stand-up grappling trying to throw, and then 1 minute of grapping. So yes, we do "hit each other" lol - It's a very complete art.

it's also very similar to funakoshi's "encircle the neck" throw from karate-do kyohan. more hip on your's, though.

Always practice throws assuming that your opponent will be larger and heavier than you. The only way to throw somebody like that is with technique, not just muscle.

Not bad at all. Very impressive. Also, Uke: "put your hands up!", Tori: "Drop it!", After showing up the wimp using the firearm, knife or bat. Funny really, people assume that a weapon makes them stronger. Not necessarily, it does give you an advantage but nonetheless, the human body is the greatest weapon, being so versatile and elegant in it's ability to break bones, strangle you, throw you and kill you in pretty much any way that it can.

I'm in jujitsu as well but my throws aren't nearly as good as this. The only throw i'm actually good at is O Goshi, otherwise i need a lot more practice. Any tips on how to make them better if they're are any?

If you think Brazilian JJ is all about ground, you guys probably never trained at a bjj school. Japanese JJ came to brazil and the Gracie's modified it so the weak could have a chance against a larger opponent through leverage, not speed/athleticism. Some pretty cool looking moves throughout the video. Thx for posting.
