Hi, it is possible I personally have not work on the cassette player but most of the time it would be the motor. I believe that there is a video on KZbin that shows how to repair not working corky cassette player. Good luck I hope you can fix it let me know if you do.

Hi, I only fixed mine with soe rubber bands the sound could be a speaker problem. You could try changing the belts with the same size rubber band not too tight and not too lose. I have a video on my channel that shows how I changed the belts.
