No need to Google me I know what I am talking about I was their music Director for 15 yrs Trust me I know them well lol I only respond when Lies are told Not aim at you Eban!

By the way That was Airrion and Herb idea.Russ knew nothing about sharing leads! Why would he needs another person to sing his shit that he made!! Once again two frauds lying as usual! The truth is that,The group was having issues between them and Russ got sick and ask them to stop for a few while he heal however the two backstabbers got Eban to replace him!Which I know for a fact many years before Herb said to me personally Eban would be the perfect replacement.So I know Herb was eyeing him way before Eban came in! They are known Liars.Anytime they keep tell you all about stories being in the STUDIO anticipating on those HIT RECORDS and you fools believe that shit You know they are Liars! And they are cowards! Anytime those 2 cowards can tell their band that the bus is leaving at 9PM to go out West for a tour Knowingly the bus left at 9AM! with a new Band !Bitch shit! Real Men talk to Real Men Anyway I wish you well Eban! I know you're glad you got away from those no good motherfuckers! I know I am.lol

Weller had drifted away musically from Foxton and Buckler and simply wanted to go in a new direction, which he knew they were totally unsuited for. They were meat and potatoes, three chord men - the fact that Bruce spent many years afterwards in ‘Stiff Little Fingers’ and is still doing ‘From the Jam’ says a lot and I think Weller got fed up with their innate conservatism, which is why he didn’t bother to keep in contact with them after the split. He didn’t really have anything in common with them anymore.
@paulockenden427815 күн бұрын
That's absolutely complete bullshit, Foxton is and always will be the best bass player Wellers ever played with for starters, and Buckler was more than capable of playing the kind of music Weller was moving towards. There's a reason the Style Council weren't as successful as The Jam , the music just wasn't as good, the style of fake white soul didn't resonate with working class kids in a way The Jam did.
@Ruda-n4h15 күн бұрын
@@paulockenden4278 The fact that Foxton and Buckler never did anything remotely resembling the Style Council afterwards proves my point, it just wasn't their cup of tea as they have since said and which Weller knew. That much alone suggests they wouldn't have been much good at it if their heart wasn't in it. I also couldn't see them in videos with angora jumpers and riding Raleigh bikes.
@paulockenden427815 күн бұрын
@Ruda-n4h that I don't disagree with, Weller has and always will be a singularly minded artist much like Bowie, ever changing and looking forward. That said it shows great disrespect to Foxton and Buckler who without them The Jam wouldn't have been the band it was. Weller in my opinion should never have formed the Style Council, instead he should have gone solo after the Jam not ponce around with his rediculous fake white soul boy act, it was all very pretentious and banal.Foxton and Buckler were definitely not ones to want a part of that tom foolery
@Ruda-n4h14 күн бұрын
@@paulockenden4278 Not talking to Bruce and Rick for years was dreadful but I genuinely think he came to see them as hired hands and got fed up. He may also have been influenced by his father and the record company that he could do it on his own and didn't need them. Weller is a very difficult person to get on with (read what Paolo Hewitt says about him on the Internet - a borderline sociopath) and if you're not in with him you're out - permanently. The Style Council was just a phase he went through (Weller was and still is a Mod) so I don't blame him for that even though I never liked them - Weller can’t do soul - he doesn’t have the voice for it. The style of his first two solo albums suited him better and Stanley Road wasn’t bad but I gave up after that.
