I couldn't agree more - this is spot-on, genuine advice for the smaller business. I've adhered to this approach for the 30 years my business has been in existence, and the truly worthwhile clients have been with me for most of that time. It becomes a form of "natural elimination", where you lose "bad" clients without even having to fire them (done plenty of the latter, though). I've always held the view that the customer is king provides he behaves like a king! When someone threatens the level of service I give my good clients, it's time to part ways. It sounds harsh, but that approach has removed so much stress and allowed me more time to focus on what puts food (and wine!) on the table. Thanks, guys, for providing some practical advice instead of just more business theory which seems to abide in abundance these days, and which often is unsuited for us little okes!

Let's recognize the natural challenges and emotional distress that accompany failure. It would be beneficial for accomplished individuals not only to promote the acceptance of failure but also to openly discuss their own encounters with it. Share your moments of doubt, allowing others, like myself, to realize that such feelings are a normal part of the journey. When confronted with failure, the intense emotional toll often makes me want to retreat inward.
