You realize you're doing this all wrong right, the first grammar isn't just for the clean nozzle, you actually use that grammar until you get to your switch rammer line. And then you use the next grammar. If you just start off using the second grammar after you use the first one for just the nozzle the hole in the Hall of armor is going to be a lot bigger than it should be. Meaning you're not going to compress it as tight as it should be. The first grammar is not just for the nozzle. And your increments are way too much. They should be at least half of that for more efficient packing.

Not the prettiest but will get the job done, you should at least try to paste the shell with paper and flour glue to minimize the chance of a flower pot though.

I hope u wrap that a couple more times cause the initial lift can melt that plastic causing a flower pot. Be safe man, don't wanna see ya get hurt doing this. Even seasoned people like myself have been bit doing this. When in doubt, cover it up. Happy fireworking..

@CameronCombustion if you want a better bang then yes. The more layers the better the break. But not to exceed mortar tube ID.

@CameronCombustion I use paper shells and gum tape. Typically 4inch mortars is what i make an Iv went as far as 13 layers on mine. The goal is to get close to the inner diameter of the mortar tube for better compression upon lift.

@CameronCombustion nahh. I follow specific instructions in the fireworks bible. Traditional ways ya know. Cause depending on which chemicals you use for stars an such, chems could mix making a dangerous mixture. Im also an Advanced Emergency Medical technician and Firefighter..hazardous materials are very unpredictable ya know what i mean. Especially if you start playing with chlorate based chems it gets very dangerous. Don't ever mix chems indoors cause its not safe. I don't know what level you play at just trying to give some advice from someone whos been hurt by the hobby for doing things i know i wasn't supposed to do. I was mixing a flash composition, an it blew in my face. Thankfully it wasn't a big amount cause id probably be dead now. Treat this hobby as if it can take your life, because it very much can. Follow strict rules because they are there for a reason, however petty that maybe..i learned the hard way. Dont be me. It was very painful for a long time. Almost lost my eyes..

Hey! So, I've been interested in pyrotechnics myself and want to learn more about it. (possibly make my own) I wasn't sure on the legality of it. I know it can vary from state to state but what all process did you have to go through to be squared away legally speaking? Any help would be apricated thanks!

States are so extremely different there really is no one good answer, assuming you’re in the United States federally it’s all about volume, the ATF starts to care if you’re storing more than 50 pounds of black powder And of course, some cities band fireworks altogether
