I joined the Royal Navy as a REM in 1978 and left in 1988. I had great times in particular on HMS Fox doing Coastal Surveys around the British Isles.

Well you can't please everybody all of the time, hundreds took part and hundreds lined the streets of Swansea to watch the parade, it's a one off once a year so let them have a they're fun, because tomorrow there will be nothing going on and that will be your day.

@@taff2wales Im disabled mate, can only get out certain days because my cousin comes to help me get out and about. I can’t go out tomorrow I’ll now have to wait until next Saturday. You shouldn’t assume. I’m not against this parade but it’s too loud and busy for me due to my illness both physical and mental. I wasn’t nasty nor did I attack the event but I am entitled to feel frustrated and vent that.

I got to correspond with Alvin on Facebook shortly before he died. I loved the guitar solo on his cover of of "Pretend" and wondered who had done it (the guitarist in Matchbox). Most Facebook stars are mainly interested in promoting their latest project. However, Alvin did respond to my question. His "Moody Guy" was one of about 5 pre-Beatles songs that was a real Brit rocker.
