I wasn’t at this show so it was nice to see younger people enjoying them. I’ve been following them right from the start in 2013/4 and have watched everything on their KZbin channel more than once! I saw them twice last year when they came to the UK opening for Muse, first in Plymouth (Muse’s hometown) and then at the Bush hall private concert (we fundraised for them to come to the UK but Covid happened and they couldn’t come) it was very special for them and for us! This year I saw them 3 times during their European tour, and I hope to see them again next year - I’m 73 after Christmas so I want to see them as many times I can before I’m gone ❤

I think a lot of the demographics are because older people found the band as “cute kids playing covers of their favourite songs” and have stuck with them as they’ve transitioned into making their own music and into the band they are today. Now please do correct me if I’m wrong here, but I think that a lot of younger fans, eg around your age, have discovered them a lot more recently due to their increased profile in the media and social media presence in the last few years. For example I know of a few fans who discovered the band purely through tiktok fan edits😅 So there’s a a lot of older fans who’ve been following them for 5/6 plus years, and a more recent influx of Gen Z fans maybe on the last 2-3 years - the fanbase absolutely needs more of them though, like you say you bring the energy and the band feeds off that. Interestingly it does seem that their shows in Europe have had better representation from younger fans.
@skcconcerts
@skcconcerts 11 күн бұрын
Yeah! A good amount of people in the comments have been saying that that is exactly how they discovered them! Me, I hadn't personally heard of them until Sam told me they were one of her favourites. I'll have to ask her how she discovered them. I've been seeing their Tik Toks a lot since the concert, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of younger fans found them this way. I was talking with a few fans about trying to see a show in Latin America or Europe in my lifetime to see the difference. Either way, I've been recommending the band to a lot of my friends, and I hope the Gen Z fanbase here in Toronto grows as a result! Thanks for watching!

@@skcconcerts Just look in their YT page for the concerts of Teatro Metropolitan (2022) or Pepsi Center (2023). In both the songs of the Error album (their third) are more prominent. To listen to older albums the Lunario concert (2018) or Foro Didi (2019) to listen Queen of the Murder Scene (their second album) and the Dakota Bar (2017) concert for their first album XXI Century Blood

Excellent concert vlog SKC. I enjoyed it! I have been to hundreds of concerts and have seen many legendary bands in their prime. But most of all they are great people who love their fans. 🗣 Welcome to TWA! 🤘☺️❤️

Hi there very interesting video. Just a note on the demographic, it's an algorithm thing. Middle age men found The Warning because they were listening to Metallica, Muse or AC/DC on You Tube then You Tube suggested a Warning cover and when we listened to these covers we thought wow these girls have talent and they are playing rock music! Hence the fan base.
@NoSmokingDogs
@NoSmokingDogs 11 күн бұрын
Never thought about it before but I think you nailed it. And from there it was us middle aged guys who had the disposable income to support the band, join their Patreon, travel to see them play live (sometimes great distances, even across oceans), and buy their merch and albums. It gave them the financial support to stay independent and turn down ridiculous offers that would have changed who they were with the goal of instant pop success.

Yeah! I'm seeing that as kids they covered a lot of those songs, and it's starting to make sense that the older generation was the demographic that found them! I'm getting a lot of comments from different fans talking about their preferences for more classic sounding rock music, and how the warning has become that for them. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, you can see how, because they were so young when they started writing, their first influences were the songs of their parents. Then came MCR and Kpop, then David Bendeth and now Royal Blood, Dead Poets Society and Anton Delost. Who knows where next...

I mean, I've never been one to go THAT far for a show, but if I ever end up going on a trip to Latin America or Europe, the first thing I will be checking is if The Warning is playing around the time I go. They would definitely be worth the sway in vacation dates to go see! I'm also really curious to see the difference. Alas, we'll continue to bring energy in North America. Looking at the comments, the older generation of fans is very happy to see us carrying on the fandom 🤘

Loved your Vlog, Thank you very much to share your perspective on this amazing band. I'm 46 and like many of us oldies we were waiting for a band this good to feel again the love for Rock that somewhat has been dwindling and that's probably why you see older demographic but I can tell you for sure the band's popularity just keeps increasing, specially with the younger generation and that's just fills me with joy because it assures me that the band will have a long longevity and I'll be enjoying their music until I die.

Hi, thanks for watching! Yeah, I'm starting to see that it reminds a lot of people in older generations of the classic rock that they haven't seen as much recently. I've been reccomending the band to my friends in hopes to introduce The Warning to more people in my age group because The Warning is super awesome! So far everyone I've showed loves the music. Here's hoping they play a bigger venue next time they come around. Thanks!

I’m one of those older fans. My wife and I have seen them 4 times. By the way we are just south of you sort of. Just a big lake between us. Sometimes I think in the U.S. the fans are mostly older. When you head to Mexico and South America the fans look younger. That observation is from videos I’ve seen on KZbin. I think Europe they may be younger also. Glad you had fun.

The explanation for the demographics it's easy, really. It has been more than 30 years since rockers were in the search for a band with great quality in music and Lyrics. I was in my twenties when Guns and Roses and Bon Jovi were at their pick in creativity. And since then if we want to hear the music we love was through You Tube or our old vinyls, in the meantime no new band touched our hearts as strong as this girls did it almost 11 years ago and it was through old anthems like Enter The Sandman, Back in Black, Kickstart my heart, Sweet Child of Mine, to name a few. Take note that most of this not so young fans are kind of protective with these ladies 'cause they beging the way to stardom as little kids due to their outstanding ability playing and writing good music. I personally love to see young people like you during their concerts in the USA and Canada, something that it's most common in Mexico, South América and Europe. It's my hope that people your age will fill the venues in upcoming years. Keep the good work, join the TWA and get more youngers into the music of the Villarreal sisters.

Thank you for this vlog. I’m in that older age group (but not at that show). For what it’s worth, there are a few big reasons why I’m a massive fan. I’ve always been immersed in alternative genres, like post-punk and indie, rather than hard rock or metal; The Warning manage to draw from decades of rock and different genres to come up with their own sound, one that I think is broad enough to resonate with old rockers, pop fans, emo fans, metal heads, etc. Most of my favorite bands, like Guided by Voices (an indie band) and Underworld (an electronic band), have that same ability to blend different genres or subgenres to come up with incredible music. I think The Warning are brilliant songwriters and performers, and a lot of their songs have emotional depth that I don’t get from other bands. And they’re fellow Mexicans; their whole team are great representatives. As for the catcalling, I’m sorry that happened. I’m not unaware that there can be a creepy element among fans of young female artists, including The Warning. I don’t engage in that kind of behavior, I don’t condone it, and I call it out when I see it. But I’d say the vast majority of the fans I encounter are truly passionate about the music and sense of community that has formed around the band, and that the band in fact has fostered. I’ve seen them twice, once in Southern California, once in Northern California. No other concerts (and I’ve been to many hundreds over the decades) came close to The Warning’s in terms of the age range of people there, from little kids to teens to some people even older than me. It was beautiful to see.

Releasing their own music for over 9 yrs. They have 2 EP, 4 Albums, and 2 singles, not a bad song in the bunch. If you react to their songs, TWA will come and support your channel. Good luck.

Thanks for your nice vlog! These sisters create a huge wall of sound, with only three voices and instruments. In the 90s, my youth, they would be already a worldwide rock sensation, but even today they bring back rock music into public. @@skcconcerts My first big one was Blondie, with Duran Duran as an opener in 1984. I've started to wear loop ear plugs so I'll still have hearing for a while yet (way better than foam plugs as far as fidelity of the sound). I was more into jazz when I was younger and saw Pat Metheny down at Ontario Place also in the 80s. I'll see him again this Wednesday! When lock downs kept cancelling The Warning's concerts they streamed their concert from their basement (they were all teens at the time). It's still up on their youtube channel if you search for their Quarantine show and have 100 minutes to spare. Thanks for your concert vlog.
