I saw the unit on the down track at Wimbledon this mornihng at about 1030, must have been another Chessington service. It looks better than the class 701s I saw at Wimbledon depot when I passed there a couple of years ago!!

Great video. How ironic at 6:30 that one of the new buses is being towed while these fantastic buses are still running. I was there last Saturday and found it exhilarating.

What a lovely video Bill. Shame I missed it, would love to have travelled on the RT's. Lovely to see these old buses running, much better than the dreadful Boris Roastmaster bus we have today on this route.

Used catch the 75 from South Norwood to Penge. Then the 227 RF to Bromley many years ago. Think it went on to Chislehurst.

Trains

When I was a child, RTs, RMs were everywhere. The only RF route I remember seeing was the the 701/702 Green Line, through Lambeth North on it's way to Gravesend from Sunningdale or Windsor. My nan lived there ( Lambeth North). They were a sight to behold. Never saw them in red until I visited regularly The Woolwich Preservation Society at Purland Road. There were several of them 381, 491 and 442 I remember. I love that RF sound, typical really of AEC vehicles. At school in the early 70s a Green Line RC or RP was hired that too was very nice. Why were RFs used on 227? Another in the locale was 241 a Welling route.
