I absolutely love every version of this song, including the video here. I have played this CD of both Sexsmith and Bubl'e many, many times. Love them both. It is a beautifully-haunting love ballad that will be enjoyed for many years to come. It was released in 2008, but I did not hear it until 2012. I play it at least 5 times per week now!

This man is amazing. I hate to say it but if he looked like the “preferred” performer he might have been world recognised ? He deserves to be seen by everyone! I adore his voice and songs. You are much loved. One of the best song writers I’ve ever heard. From the heart my friend

When our love was new As new as the morning It sparkled like the dew Of the new day dawning Little did we know We were old souls from the stars For though our love was new It was ancient in our hearts When our love was born And the new life was beginning Our kisses they were warm Our eyes how they glistened Nothing much to say It was always meant to be Though our love was newly born Other lifetimes had it seen Spirits swirl around And twirl around until they find a home I turned around, you turned around, until the time had flown When our love was young As young as the springtime We were always on the run Now it slows till it's sweet time Little did we know We were old souls from the stars Although our love was young It was ancient in our hearts Although our love was new It was ancient in our hearts, ooh

You know our luck was bad for a little while We're still going nowhere, but now we're going in style We've got a smile for everyone we know, and those we don't We've been falling down, but now we're feeling good And things are moving like we knew they would Whoa, I'm riding on a diamond wave You know the sun was hiding under heavy cloud There was no one guiding us for miles And any doubts or second thoughts are gone, long gone Though we're doing things that we don't understand I can feel the motion of our father's hand Oh, I'm riding on a diamond wave Take a look at me now Oh, I'm feeling good I know it somehow Oh, I'm feeling better than I thought I could Ooh-ooh, I'm riding on a diamond wave Take a look at me now Oh, I'm feeling good But don't ask me how Oh, feeling better than I thought I could Well, the living ain't easy, but that's old news Got a shirt on my back, got a new pair of shoes And the blues don't stay for long When they come, I show 'em the door And you know I love you, you know it's true And I feel like a king when you say you love me too Oh, I'm riding on a diamond wave Oh, I'm Oh, I'm riding Oh, I'm riding on a diamond wave On a diamond wave On a diamond wave

I’ve always seen schooldays Through September eyes Could never concentrate Could never memorize All the blackboard figures and facts Oh how I fell behind For dreams and schemes And visions of summertime It was what I had in mind My Ma could find no A’s In my report card news Hoped it was just a phase That I was going through “Does not apply himself” I would hear Could never fall in line With the slave all day For minimum pay design It wasn’t what I had in mind I could never see the relevance Or the intelligence Of preaching gloom and doom Nor could I address the elephant in the room Now that’s what I had in mind! I could never see the relevance Or the intelligence Of preaching gloom and doom Nor could I address the elephant in the room So many shades of grey In these November skies As another year decays To cut ya down to size Heading out of town for a show Down the Vivian Line In the rearview mirror leaving all of our tears behind Now that’s what I had in mind! What I had in mind What I had in mind

After the storm, she heard one bird calling Calling for its love I guess And in the tall inter branches falling Many a bird had lost its nest The summer storm, it came without warning Leaving damage in its wake But with the dawn came the gentle morning To leave its grace for heaven's sake Awe, the blessings I feel right now Oh, how lucky we are to have a home To have a home Awe, the blessings I feel right now Oh, how lucky we are to have a home When one is gone, there'll be one bird calling Calling for its love somewhere And with its song, many tears are falling For the ones no longer there For the ones no longer there, ooh-ooh-ooh

I see him play Brighton, England. What 20 years ago? It wasn't very well attended. I smoked a joint at the back then came down the front to enjoy the show, it was pure bliss. (I don't smoke any more. Give up smoking all you smokers out there!)

The Michael Buble cover is nice do not get me wrong its a song I've come back to & championed for over 10+ years. However, just now decided to look up Sixsmith's version .....And I am Just like YYYYYYEEEESSSS!!!! the originals are always the best! The cover does not do justice with Ron's parts. I Did not anticipate the style change from his version to Mr. Bubble's version Either. The early 2000's vibes of the music video was just peak! This version is now my go to version.

I feel almost the exact same! It would've been Bublé's counterpart Alan Chang's doing, his stylisation of which I am generally a fan of. And so I give him credit as I would have never heard of this song in the first place. However this original version sounds almost like a whole different song, and has given me the push to get back into redoing piano covers

Ron, will you please bring out a live album with a simple fantastic recording. I would prefer just you and either the piano or guitar, back to basics. The one on one nature, touching the souls of people with your realism and the way you emote I think this is where you are at your finest. I really enjoy the studio albums, but live is where you really capture peoples hearts.
