Brilliant.got some of otis on my phone like I said brilliant soul singer. Also the likes of chuck jackson and gene chandler. Anyone remember jackie wilson ?. Jackie lee darkest days ?.ready steady go. What can I say? Fantastic programme. I love the sixties stuff. Even though I would have been say 4 years old in 1964 doesn't t matter.northern soul I was into and all the mod stuff.

I was too young to know about the Buddy Holly crash but Otis dying was a massive shock to us young Brits. He made a massive impression when he came over here in 66. Sam and Dave paved the way and Otis brought it home.

i was clearly born in the wrong era and the world we live in today is complete shit lol. What we call talent today was dried up dogshit in 1966. btw Eric Burdon shreds it as well I had no idea the wingspan he had there

Had the privilege of seeing Otis live at the old Regal Theater in Chicago, but even on TV he's perhaps the most joyous performer I've ever seen.

Time of white America racism. These black artists should get lawyers and sue every record label, radio stations, stage show and White artists who performed their songs without permission !!😂

I don't know how I managed to miss this when it was shown back in the 60s, but it was way before the era of being able to just press a button to see a repeat! Certainly the best live music show of that period.

Phenomenal stuff! Otis Redding and Eric Burdon with Chris Farlowe on stage at the same time! Sandy Sarjeant is the key Go-Go girl! What is there to compare these days? Nothing. Feel the excitement!

Yes, I'm late to this comment party, but I would like to ask if any of the commenters on here were in attendance when James Brown made his appearance on this show on 3/11/66? I have always heard that he wasn't as well received as was Otis, and the Motown stars were, and I would like to know from someone who may have been there what may have been the issue with JB?

Its good and proper that Chris farlowe and Eric Burdon were there with him as they understudied him and became amongst the best soul singers in Britain, then Joe Cocker, Paul Young,, Spencer D and many others kept the faith

This is easily the greatest live performance ever seen on tv. The band are amazing, especially the drummer, the other singers, Farlowe and Burdon are excellent but just support for the man himself. Unforgettable ,what a performer!!!
