Sadly on November 2001, Weird Al was finally unable to prevent George Harrison from drinking that cup of rat poison. RIP you dead beaver-rubbing, large quantity wine-drinking, He’s So Fine-parodying, lady elbow-loving, Pee-Wee Herman fan club-founding, wife-sharing, non-gardening, 25 cent movie-seeing, rancid moldy piece of meatloaf-eating, dish-helping, Weird Al album-disliking pain in the a**!😢

This interview should have been six words long. After all, he’s the Quiet Beatle.

0:22 Well, it's funny because George Harrison did NOT indeed write the lyrics to "I've Got My Mine Set On You." It was originally a hit by R&B singer James Ray in 1962 and was written by songwriter Rudy Clark. Ironic considering this was one of the only hits by George Harrison where he didn't write the actual song lol - besides arguably the melody to "My Sweet Lord" which was subconsciously plagiarized.

Here are the real answers for "Ask Al" 11:08 He got sick of the glasses and decided to get laser surgery, probably because he thought the glasses were too thick. Although he's usually seen without a mustache these days, sometimes he grows it back and sometimes he grows a goatee usually shaving them off for album covers and big appearances. It has nothing to do with trying to look like Alanis or any other modern day "rock star". 11:18 Motor oil is poison. It can kill you. It's best to put a "Mr. Yuk" sticker on a bottle of motor oil to keep reminding you of that. 12:27 Al, that kid by the street didn't ask a question. 12:46 Just get a job, or set up an allowance deal with your parents. 13:04 The Weird Al Show was canceled after one season because CBS did not find that it followed the formulaic pattern set by Pee-wee's Playhouse, and it coupled with difficulties in keeping the show in check. So CBS decided to cancel it and Weird Al and the crew for that show acknowledged that fact. Also, Al found in retrospect that working on that show was far too stressful and not the vision of what he wanted it to be, but it had nothing to do with what Al said here. That's why Al is not still doing it.

😅 This is great! Haven't seen this since like 1996. I didn't realize it was Bill Manspeaker from Green Jelly who Al throws off the roof.

Weird Al also did one with Paul McCartney that's really funny. I loved when he took over MTV.

What year was this interview? Something's telling me that this predates the Paul McCartney interview. I could be wrong though. It was definitely done in the 80's at the earliest, since it literally has 'Got My Mind Set on You' at the beginning.

3:10 for those who didn't get it, that was a reference to The Rutles' film All You Need Is Cash, made in 1978 by George's friend Eric Idle, of Monty Python fame. "The trousers" is a recurring joke in the film, which features a cameo by George.
