Hi Karen 😊 Are u mixing the retarder in to each colour before u start or are u scooping up a bit on the brush before u scoop up a bit of colour?? Hope that makes sense lol😊

Looks beautiful Karen - your colours really zing 😁. I haven’t done any acrylics for a couple of years - this is a great one to try them out again 👍. Building up to light colours is so opposite to watercolour but it’s always quite forgiving 😉
@karenricepaintingchannel46642 ай бұрын
You are right building light to dark is the opposite to watercolour! It is such a good one to get back into acrylic painting! I hope you enjoy getting your acrylics out again!

Hi Karen, I usually paint with watercolour and follow your other channel (which i love), but I recently purchased gouache to try that for a change. Is painting with gouache similar to acrylic? I was struggling to find any tutorials for gouache specifically, so I'm now wondering if acrylic tutorials will help instead. X
@karenricepaintingchannel46642 ай бұрын
Hi Leanne. Gouache and acrylic are both opaque. When acrylics dry they are permanent but when Gouache dry they are not, so the paint can be disturbed even when dry. They also dry more matt than acrylics that dry with a sheen.
