If you'd bore cut and left a strap on the first tree, the momentum of the tree would have carried it past the other tree

I’m an old retired logger (83) from SW Washington State, and I have been watching you for some time Bjarne. Started setting chokers for Weyerhaeuser in 1959 for $2.20 an hour, worked for 55 years before retiring in 2015. Logged lots of old growth in the sixties, but by the time I retired they were long gone. I watch a lot of utube channels where guys from states like Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan and other parts of the USA, and Canada as well are cutting trees, often without any safety equipment and any basic knowledge of falling a two foot tree. Often I suggest they tune into your channel to pick up a few pointers. Enjoy your videos, realizing all the work that goes into them. 😊

Thanks for your great falling videos. I noticed your undercuts are flat. When I was felling our undercuts were at right angle to lean of tree. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about this difference. Again, thank to you and your editor for great videos.

Excellent camera location & shot. That was definitely 1 of your more impressive hits in the bush using 1 tree to knock down 1 tree that was supposed to fall but just wouldn’t go (stuck). You remind me of the lead character from a 1980’s tv series called The 6 Million Dollar Man. I don’t know if you’re familiar with it. Specifically you remind me of the enhanced qualities the lead character was given. The story was that the lead character (Steve Austin played by Lee Majors) was an astronaut who was in a spaceship crash landing accident. Because of the accident he lost the use of his legs, 1 arm & 1 eye which is how his character acquires the enhanced capabilities. His enhancements: legs- exceptional speed & strength; 1 arm- exceptional strength & 1 eye- exceptional ability to see incredible distances much like using high strength military binoculars. Comparing you to the character it’s your vision that stands out to me being able to lineup a tree to hit & knock down another tree that’s “stuck”. You were absolutely 100% right on the target. I can’t imagine that working out better than what it did. Unless you were attempting a so-called domino effect trying to get multiple trees down with 1 or more hits. I agree it helps to have luck on your side but when you have experience from doing it, luck has less to do with it & it’s more about weighing the different factors against each other that need to be considered. You’re the Canadian Tree Falling Expert version of the 6 Million Dollar Man. The question: to line up or not to line up. Message to trees, I’d say: when in the bush, go the way Bjarne wants you to & there will be no trouble. Excellent aim, content, job, video & thank you for taking the time to capture your work on video!!!

@@canadianboyee Ah my bad - I was aware he mixed and matched, but I mentioned it at around 22 minutes, when I thought the powerhead was a Stihl (must have been the light making it look super orange for some reason)|! Any reason in particular for converting to Stihl bar and (presumably) chain?

@@canadianboyee Thanks mate. I own a Stihl MS462 with a light bar. Great bits of kit. Once my standard bar on my older MS 261 wears out I'll definitely feel the difference with the light bar. Do you know what chain he uses?
