Looks like a great place to ride. Definitely not worth the 462 mile drive to get there thou. Thanks for posting it for all of us to watch .

@@benjirides218 oh, that's crazy. You say you moved in to the farm in this video back in the 90s, so you've been here a while, well sucks that there probably won't be any more Mountain Ridge videos, I love the East Coast Mountains. Most of Texas is just flat. If you ever can, since you're closer, one day you have to go to Colorado and take your Grizzly on the Alpine loop. It's absolutely beautiful and would make the best video ever. I have some videos of Engineer Pass and Corkscrew Pass @Fullsend Travels, The landscape is awesome. Plus it's a loop, so you can leave the truck and trailer at a parking spot, and go around and come back. You don't even need to have a Registered ATV.

oh, the clicking, happens on my KingQuad too. it's the engine brakes locking up the wheels, trying to slow down. In 2wd engine braking is worse because it can only brake the rear driveshaft, while in 4wd I notice much less clicking due to easier slowing down with the front driveshaft moving too.

Im getting a new bike soon and can’t decide between a honda or yamaha…. What one do you like best?
@benjirides218
@benjirides218 Жыл бұрын
Personally I like my Grizzly better. It's faster, just as reliable, and will do everything the Honda can do. It is very close in price. And my Yamaha came with a winch and better stock tires than the Honda. My biggest concern with the Honda was the DCT. There are benefits to a geared transmission, as well as set backs. I had seen a lot of facebook posts about how the DCT was problematic on certain years and I saw that pattern leading right up to the blue 2022 model. Many people don't have any issues with it, but a lot still do. I figured with the Grizzly, the worst that can happen is that it might need a new belt. But with the DCT, there is a software component, ten gears, the trans.... lots of things that can break and the dealerships don't want to deal with them.

@@paulbishop5419 I have a "Short" on my channel of me hauling some fire wood in a trailer. I would guess I've hauled 1500lbs through some mud and hills. The grizzly can definitely do the work. When I compare towing with the Grizzly and my Rancher with a solid axle, the rancher can't keep up at all. The new foreman's might be better, but I see a huge improvement in my situation. You can see that video on my channel as well. The thumbnail is the kids in the wagon.

Hey luved the video! I have the same color and size but I have the Cruise 21' version...just more seats 💺. I had such a hard time with the stupid boat cover that came with it & it only covers the top of the boat and not the sides, that I had a custom boat cover made for it that covers the whole boat completely & I can drive with the cover on with no problems! Worth the investment to protect it completely NOT just the top. 👌

I always use equal pressure on front and rear brakes together, you get a smooth controlled stop and if you do it all the time in an emergency you will hit both brakes and not slide or fishtail out of control 😉 Now if I can get it thru my wives head. Also being in 4wd can help control in a lot of different situations. You might not need 4wd to get up it just makes it easier going up and down somethings... Nice video, keep the rubber side down....lol. I have a 2021 Grizzly EPS and the wives is a 2021 Kodiak eps 700. She moved up from a 450 Kodiak. The 700 is just so much better.

So true! I had a section of footage talking about "enjoy the not-knowing, because once you know all the trails the mystery is gone", but the footage was at a bad angle and didn't come out good. But I totally agree with you. I was a bit nervous at the time after my experience with the hill climb, but I think if I went back and did it right I would be open to trying the other hill climb on this trail
@ColoradoDualSport
@ColoradoDualSport Жыл бұрын
Yep, I'll agree with the other guys below that said 4wd low would have been your best bet. That way all 4 wheels are being held back at once. You could see that it was only your rear wheels skipping a bit. That is the problem with not having a clutch and being able to manage the friction point. Also don't be scared of the front brake, if the rear is sliding it's all you have left. If the rear is sliding like that and you have ample room to run out of the hill before a turn you could always give it a little throttle to bring the rear wheels back in line, then use all 4 breaks to slow down without the slide. A little goose of the throttle will always snap the back end back in line if it's going sideways. Just don't over do it and don't panic. Always keep your eyes up and be looking for "oh shit" lines you can take if you have to.

I would agree with you, I need to be mindful of this if I go to some other parks. Hatfield and Mccoy may have a very different idea of a "Black Trail" than Mountain Ridge does. Oh I did a shoutout about you in my hill climb video, thanks for the tip about loosening my grip, it has worked wonders
