I ended up with a carotid artery dissection from whiplash in an MVA 9 years ago. For years I was able to get chiropractic / physiotherapeutic help, but as of today that has now been refused due to the risks of death by stroke (apparently), so I've been informed that I must live with this horrible neck pain, and there is nothing that anybody in the medical field can or will do for me except (possibly) prescribe dangerous pain killers such as opioids which I will never take. I am told I should not even exercise or massage my neck for the rest of my life without risking a stroke, so I'm scared to even touch my neck, even when bathing. All I can do now is smoke a lot of cannabis for the rest of my life, as that is the only painkiller that works, though it does not physically correct anything. Luckily for me though, there is a good suicide hotline in my city as my future looks bleak

I am so sorry to hear about your dilemma and crisis. My site is intended to provide relevant research reviews and not to provide medical advice. And given I know none of the specifics of your health history, it would be inappropriate to give any specific advice. However, in my encounters with patients in the past, it has become apparent that sometimes when someone has persistent severe pain, something has been missed on their imaging and having a second review of any related X-Rays, MRI or CTs would seem reasonable. Also, there are other evidence-based alternative approaches that don't require movement or placing the head and neck in extreme positions such as acupuncture, dry needling of trigger points, and some myofascial approaches. It is requisite, though, that the person delivering that care is made aware of your limitations and pre-existing problems. The best of luck. I wish I could be of more help.

@@theevidence-informedchirop8847 Thanks for your response, though I was not looking for advice - because there is none. Just trying to find something before it's too late. Getting chiropractic is not the only treatment I can no longer have; trigger point and myofascial approaches are also not allowed. I've only had one acupuncturist give me any relief and she cost a fortune - but she doesn't correct anything, just treats pain. Chiropractors have told me for decades that if I don't get this corrective treatment, my neck will degenerate until it will no longer move. Now that they won't let me get this treatment, I am fully aware of the fate that awaits me. Cheers ~

I have been a chiropractor for 40 years and know all the research that has been done. Other than some rat studies showing mechanically (surgically) stabilized facet joints degenerate quickly (in rats), the assumption by many chiropractors that everyone needs us to prevent horrible degeneration and lack of ability to move has not been shown in research and is not accurate. It began, historically, when chiropractors were looking for an explanation for why high frequency care was necessary and to justify life-long care. Believe me, having seen thousands of patients, I would not be able to distinguish those that have had chiropractic care from those that had not by either looking at their x-rays or range of motion in their neck. It might be helpful to not resign yourself to that life sentence.

The Moderna vaccine made me have flare-ups of pancreatitis, cysts on my abdomen and increased arthritic pain. I will never take another vaccine.

*Chiropractic MUA is now a FELLOWSHIP with the Title Designation (FACMUAP) since our guidelines were accepted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through our Delphi panel review and publication. With the new FACMUAP title designation, doctors that complete the MUA Fellowship training are now recognized as a true designated specialist in Manipulation Under Anesthesia instead of just having a "certificate of completion" from the college. Moving forward carriers will require that any physicians performing the MUA procedure be “Fellowship-Trained” in order to perform the procedure. We are extremely excited that this unrivaled non invasive Pain Management procedure is now recognized with the credibility it deserves throughout the Chiropractic AND Medical Communities. For more information on the MUA Fellowship (FACMUAP) visit our website at **www.muacertification.com*
