Do these work for the 2 disc versions of the game thats available on vimms website cause im kind of new to emulator modding etc or is this just fo the first part? This looks incredible btw it makes me feel like im looking at one of my all time favorite ps2 games for the very first time again.

Yes they do work on for both Discs This Mod only works with an older version of the Emulator but I already included that in the pack

I just love reading comments on these kind of video is just shows the strenght of nostalgia... all those " DQVIII is the best ", come on guys, you lowkey only ever played VIII, you're irrelevant, at best you might have played IX or XI and that's about it. The truth is, if you look at how popular Dragon Quest games are in Japan, you know, the country in which they were all released, you'll notice that DQVIII is bottom 3. and the undisputed top 3 is III, IV and V. And as someone that has not started with VIII, I 100% relate to that.

As someone who has played all of the mainline games in the franchise barring the original 1 and 2, and of course the ever elusive 10, 8 is the best and 11/5 are 2 and 3 But of course, that's the power of opinions

Shit, this game really breathes life into the imagination we had in classic DQ. Like, I never imagine Multifist to look THAT good. The choreography is great for an old, classic game.

No joke looks amazing. I downloaded the mod, and am having trouble trying to get it to work on the nighly build 1.7 pcsx2. Not quite sure what I am doing at all ngl. Very recently got a PC so I am VERY new to all this. However I loved this game coming up and would love to do a Let's Play series on it for my channel. 6:16 pearly gates isn’t worth 100 skill points in charisma lol it’s crazy how this game prioritizes staff with him, maybe bow, and whips for Jessica’s twin dragon lash 4:52 to outdamage the party somehow when her other physical moves are weaker, even early game given 23 skill points. Barrier helps with Jessica’s staff if you have DQ4 Psaro flashbacks is needing insulatle lol. Also 3:30 underpants dance may be a good way to finish humanity with Yangus as he doesn’t have many abilities for all enemies.

I'm debating on buying an expensive 4:3 display from 2013. Do you think this would be a better experience than a new TV since SH2 didn't support widescreen?

I'm afraid if I buy a new TV that the picture will be stretched. SH2 is my favorite game ever so I wanna make it look the best and play the best too.

@@strictlynineties PS2 original format for games is 4:3 so it should look good. There are also widerscreen patches 16:9 for every game on PCSX2 Emulator. I dont see a problem on 4:3 because just make sure to turn off widerscreen patch/cheats

Yes it should work also with the JP dub just change he folder containig the textures to GKB

I was wondering if you'd integrate this and your other HD mods into the new versions of the emulator that support texture replacement. Or is there something preventing that even now?

This game I could ,but will do it later. Shadow Hearts 2 and 3 need to done completly new ,but without 2D icons because they dont work with the newest one. If anyone could play through those games and dump the textures I could do it for the new version,but I dont have the time to play the games right now -__- You need to play the game with cutscenes until the end best done with max stats and levels cheats with Dump on to get all textures and than fix and upscale them.

Hi. I've downloaded your HD mod. When i extract it, it is a version of pcsx2. Can you teach me how can i use the mod? Should i only run the pcsx2 included in the file? Should i leave the setting as it is?

Sorry for the late reply ,yeah just use the pcsx2 that comes with the game and read the file that is in it.You can always set the upscaleing higher if you have good pc

DQ8 is the best among the DQ series. The stories, the animation, the music and bgm and even the VA is a wonder and amazing. DQ8 is is the one that introduce the DQ series to me and I don't regret a single penny of my money from spending on this series. DQ11 is amazing but I DQ8 is a masterpiece.

I agree with that. Sometimes I think its just nostalgia talking through me ,but the more I think and play DQVIII I it always gets me the gameplay, the world ,the music,the character are so charming and the Animation it fits so well.
