This is just the video I was looking for ! Is it possible to authenticate SAP with Power Platform without using APIM with the same connection - Microsoft Entra ID Integrated (with APIM)?
@SAPonAzure13 күн бұрын
We saw with customers that in most cases, there are slight modifications on how the SAML/OAuth flow was setup. That's why we decided not to hard-code the SSO flow from Power Platform, but to make it more flexibile via the Policies in APIM. This gives you the possibility to modify and adjust it to your specific requirements. In this video we used Azure API Management, but the same flow also works with SAP API Management or any other APIM solution. We will provide videos for other scenarios as well. - Holger.

How about the SAP is on Unix OS? How to access SAP gateway?
@SAPonAzure17 күн бұрын
You need to install the on-prem data gateway on a Windows system (could even be your client). As long as this system has access to your SAP system (running on Unix) this setup would work. - Holger.

How would your integration be for the following scenario: An onPremise Kafka event must be sent to SAP-BTP and to SAP private cloud, where the event should create an asset in MDG-EAM? SAP Cloud Connector does not yet support the Kafka protocol. SAP-Private link between an Azure Event Hub and SAP-BTP cannot be used. Thank you.

Our giant company migrating old SAP to SAP S4/HANA. Not sure if all of our employees understand the significance of the migration. We also use Salesforce as our CRM. Frankly I prefer one platform because I believe SAP S4/HANA enables CRM capabilities under one “data wheel for the enterprise”.

I have placed wait statement inside my rfc fm in odata. While debugging i found that, power automate flow triggers multiple times for a single record. I am suspecting there is some time constraints there, failing which it is triggering again. Can you please help on this, why it triggers flow multiple times for same record?
@SAPonAzure3 ай бұрын
Can you explain your flow? The RFC connector should not trigger multiple times (unless you specify that). There is a retry mechanism, but that should only kick-in, when there is an issue. - Holger.

Thanks for the video. The SAPES5 Test system is , to my knowledge, open to the internet, whereas SAP customer systems are protected by firewalls. As illustrated at 00:21, one option is the Data Gateway (thank you for the recent video kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5evZp2Md5t7ipo ), As per your diagram, it seems that using the SAP Cloud Connector could also be an option ; does that mean that the Power Platform would connect directly via the SAP Cloud Connector without using any other solution (not using Azure or SAP APi Management, just SAP Cloud Connector and SAP S/4HANA On premises). Is it possible ?
@ambujakshirao22594 ай бұрын
One more perspective - most cloud platforms give pretty much give all the flexibility of doing something on-Prem. Sometimes cloud offerings provide more flexibility. But, with SAP it’s dead opposite. Sap just takes away the flexibility and adds a big price tag. Why would customers choose such products? Oh, are there roadmap items? These roadmap items are promised during SAPPHIRE , ASUG, TechEd etc, but they never come out.
@priscillalee37954 ай бұрын
Robert is correct. The problem with customers for their slow adoption on Rise cloud vision because they still have on prem mindset which still hold and focus on infrastructures (security, monitoring, maintenence, etc). They should leave those responsibilities to SAP and change their focus to improve, innovate their applications, business processes with cloud technologies (automation, AI, etc)
@ambujakshirao22594 ай бұрын
Nah.. it’s not the on-Prem mindset that’s the problem. But, the problem is with SAPs offering itself. Customers are evaluating these pricey offerings very carefully (and they should be doing) . Leaving many critical responsibilities to SAP has turned out to be a major PITA for many customers. And SAP is shoving a ton of so called BTP innovations, which are really substandard offerings, which can be easily achieved on alternate platforms at a much much lower price. Only SAP and SIs benefit from these offerings. From a customer POV , they’re selling their soul to SAP for nothing. SAP is cash hungry and wants to lock in customers to their platform. But, even a 5 year old will be able to tell that SAP is doing it wrong. It’s only going to piss off customers. End of rant.
@declanmcardle4 ай бұрын
@22:00 I know you're 1/2 joking but the focus will be on VMWare and SAP's own hosting infrastructure. AWS and Azure and GCP will be second-class citizens...
@declanmcardle4 ай бұрын
I'd say Robert will encounter massive push back with many improvements he will suggest to the ECS Service (Request) Catalog. He alludes to it here @5:30. (and goes on for another 6 minutes...) It would be nice to see if ECS have any sort of customer facing roadmap - like the other SAP Road Map Explorers - as it's very hard to get useful feedback from a CDM or TSM when asking about improvements or how was a suggestion which was fed back using official feedback forums/methods is progressing.* (* I am not asking for an official answer regarding a future or unreleased product)
@ambujakshirao22594 ай бұрын
All of the customers I've interacted with have expressed high levels of dissatisfaction following their move to RISE. The service level agreements for requests are practically non-existent, and observability is significantly poorer than the non-RISE model. And don’t get me started on RISE BOM.

Yes. Azure Open AI allows the human to ask a question in “ Natural Language” to and through the Azure Open AI API prompt interface and the LLM essentially coverts your question into “code” that reads the SAP system and provides the data you requested.

Good job ! Would be interesting to show the audience how this could be achieved with SAP Business One as well.Unlike ECC or S4/HANA , B1 does accepts tokens issued by other IDP’s thanks to it’s Identity and Authentication Management flow done in the Cloud Control Center.since the Odata connector also applies to B1 Metadata endpoints, the SSO mechanism is also very useful there.

Outstanding! We need more people like Ronald in companies and more acceptance of pragmatic and quickly implemented solutions. Instead of always hearing from the IT department that we should stick with the SAP standard and therefore something will not be adapted. Companies that do not go down this path will sooner or later go under. It was also interesting to see that the SAP consultant Robert never said anything; he probably already saw in his mind's eye that all projects would be implemented cost-effectively with the Power Platform, instead of the expensive and time-consuming process that had previously been carried out by several SAP consultants.
