I've seen some refer to them as chicken fillets, i've seen at least one correct comment, these are just something to hide the bar that the Himmy tank bars are mounted to. I really like the look of them on my Skyline blue Scram.

@@breadgarlichouse2265 I know that Hitchcocks sell a single carb 32mm conversion kit, so I m sure that would be appropriate for the 650 motor. I've got the Classic350 because there was a great OTR deal going for stock clearance in the UK. But as a returning biker who prefers 'thumpers', I miss the kickstart and fine tuning the carbs.....the days of sitting on the garage floor & tinkering, beer to hand and 70's-80's rock & metal playing on the stereo. So I'll likely go for a newer RE Classic500 with it's kickstart, then eventually put a carb conversion back on. That's if I don't find a reasonable price 60's-70's Triumph Bonnie first.

I think if you never rode a 500 then the 350 would be fine. Personally I prefer the old bike feel with the old bike look on the Royal Enfields. I think they took a step backwards on valve adjustments on the new bike.

Hi, flatcapcaferacer. Yes I agree that the old 500 has a charm lacking in the new 350. I’ve owned three 500s and really enjoyed the feel and character of the motor. However, for me, the new motor is refined, smooth and quite torquey for a 350. It’s an easier bike to live with. Also, the gearbox is an absolute delight to use. But again, it doesn’t have the same character of the 500. Thanks for your thoughts. Cheers, Len

Also another approach to be considered - remove weight wherever possible - rear light assembly replaced , center stand removed , 2 to 1 exhaust eliminates 1 muffler , solo seat , LED head light , LED signal pods , replace the lead acid battery with a Lithium Ion one. You should be able to reduce the weight by 30 plus pounds and that will also make a difference.

The clunkiness of the transmission may be due to the stock clutch running hot. Rekluse makes a kit that is tailored to the R.E. 650's that have the 743cc and 863cc big-bore kits.

A few years ago I bought two of the S&S 750cc (743cc) big bore kits and installed the first one in mid-2023 when my 2020 Interceptor had 28,000 miles on it. I also installed the S&S camshaft while doing all the work myself except the liner installation which I had a machine shop do including cross-hatch. Doing the work myself, total cost of the big-bore kit, camshaft, machine shop fees and parts was just over $1,100. That was 14,000 miles ago (now 6•10•24). Totally different bike! Have been riding well over 1,000 miles per month and can't leave it parked....my Triumphs (Thruxton and Speed Twin) feel heavy and slow compared to the 750INT which weighs less (195kg) and has another gear (6 vs 5-speed). This is the best money spent to easily and dependably give a 650 R.E. the throttle authority of a 900.

Bullet proof bottom end. I have a 2017 Continental GT and love it. I also had a Triumph 2022 1200 Speed twin which I didn't like. I'm not sure if it was a tire thing with the Triumph but it always felt twitchy on the road and didn't inspire confidence in the twisties. I traded that in on 2024 BMW RS1250.

I agree with Charles about the Speed Twin 1200; mine is so "snatchy" throttle wise it reminds me of a 2-stroke, I installed the Ducati spacers and it still is annoying to ride even in rain mode. Shouldn't have to get a new bike re-flashed to make it run smoothly, the emissions tune from the factory is probably to blame.

Good dayTo you 12 months ago I purchased my Royal Enfield Hunter 350 living in England we don’t have the benefits of the good warm weather as you do but I must say that it has been enjoyable riding the hunter 350 in between the showers. I don’t ride bikes in the winter as the rules are, wetwet and fast amount of salt on the road. Put on my bike 1100 miles and I still get to get my first Service done.. I must say that for The summer autumn period of last year I really enjoyed the film of a new Motorcycle it’s classic. It does have a modern classic look. I see this because I also ride triumph Bonneville T 120 which is also a modern take on an old designs of the 1959 series getting back to the Royal Enfield. I find the right very comfortable. It’s great and traffic gives you a lot of miles per gallon and that is a must be with the price of gas as as they are in the UK think it holds the road very well there has been talked that the standard tires video on that grave but I’ve not yet had a problem with that spot of driving is around 60 to 65 and the speed max is kept at 71 miles an hour for my overallof the last year I am so very pleased with my purchase of the 350. It’s a great bike for going into town this Sunday gentle rides out in the countryside. and most of all, does it value you for Money? I think the Royal Enfield hunter 350 , offer value for money and a don’t break The bank sale price on the road £3899, I am of the age of 70 years many motorcycles from the age 17 until the present day and I look home the bikes that I have had over this period of time I want to be right a classic cruise I have The Triumph 1200 , the hunter 350 has got some of the looks of the T120, What is a different legal between them both? @motostralia5563 3 ай бұрын
Hi, Nick. I’m pleased you enjoyed the video. The gearbox on Jono’s GT was good. Unfortunately, the gearbox on my 865 was not great from new. However, having the work done to the motors on each bike had no effect on the operation of their gearboxes. The 865 did need a heavier clutch with more plates to handle the increased power and torque from the motor, but that didn’t affect the gearbox. Directly after riding these two bikes I had the opportunity to ride a stock Interceptor as well as a stock GT. The gearbox on one was not great, but the other was quite good. Interestingly, the gearbox on my first RE650 GT Continental was definitely the best gearbox on any bike I’ve ever owned. All of this has me thinking that gearbox quality is/was not uniform across all machines at the time of my riding them. I’m not sure if others have found this to be the case; I can only say that at the time, gearbox quality seemed to be random. However, that may not be the case now. Cheers, Len

I have a 2013 B5 Bullet 500 in Forest Green with gold pinstriping. I bought it new, and absolutely love it. I have converted it from that HORRIBLE EFI to an Amal Concentric MK1 carburetor using a kit from Hitchcocks, and installed an aftermarket non cat con exhaust on it without the baffle. The 500 Bullet is the real thing, even with the UCE (unit construction engine) converted to a carburetor and with an aftermarket exhaust, it has the same feel and sound of the original pre unit bike. The new Classic 350, and now the new Bullet 350 are just pretenders. They have some of the look, but none of the substance. They have none of the sound and feel. They are just computer controlled fakes. I don't give a rats ass about emissions standards, something I don't have to be concerned about with a motorcycle here in the U.S. Also, My 2013 Bullet 500 has NO flat black on it. The new 350s, and even some of the last 500s were almost completely flat black. I hate flat black with a passion I cannot describe with words. I would love to get an early 2000s red and chrome pre unit Bullet 500, and if I ever find a decent one, I probably will. I'm 64, I like MACHINES, not smooth quiet computers on wheels.
