Did you resolve the grip plate screw issue? That situation has me worried about getting one of these
@thepontiackid
@thepontiackid 9 ай бұрын
Negative. You have to use the rubber grips that say browning on them instead of the sweet grips. That helps because the screw holds the escutcheon (nut) better during the violent vibration of firing it. I actually just sold it because of this issue. Buy a Colt instead.

Ever see one where the barrel cannot be removed from the slide? It can be disassembled just fine, but once the slide is off, the barrel cannot be taken out, even if the lugs are perfectly lined up with the cut-out at the front of the slide/muzzle. I just can't imagine why they would have made one that can't be removed normally (or at all).

The gold piece at the end of the striker spring is called the "Cocking Indicator Assembly" in the diagram. Looks like one piece, but it might be two (I'm not certain). In most other guns with a near identical design it's considered to be the ejector, because when the spring gets compressed as the slide recoils, it eventually stops the firing pin from going back any farther, which causes the firing pin to protrude enough to eject the spent casing when the slide is all the way back. (or when you rack it by hand).

This isn't meant to be a rude question, but what makes this gun worth $1,000+ for you? I love 25 ACP pocket pistols, but I am wondering why this new PSA 25 commands such a high price, as compared to pre-1968 imported pocket pistols.

I am trying to get a new door glass installed and the rubber and the track are too tight, I have tried wd-40 and Windex but will try some motor oil tonight. Working on a 1967 Firebird coupe
@thepontiackid
@thepontiackid Жыл бұрын
Let me know how the oil works. Often times when you get the glass in the rubber and the rubber inline with the track, people use the rubber mallet to the gently tap it into place. Hope it works for ya.

3 quarts in 800 miles? That's worse than the bimmer! Do you think that pixie dust spells bad news for the internals? Also, that rear deck looks fucking clean with the speaker pair.

Yeah cylinder 1 is suffering. I don't think the rings set properly. C2 is 165 PSI while all other 7 cylinders are 190 PSI on the compression test. Needs to be rebuilt, but for now I'll just run it until catastrophe. Or I get the motivation to do a third motor swap in 3 years. I was adjusting the timing at the end of the season from 10 degrees before top dead center to 18 BTDC and it significantly improved the drive. I have hope the rings may seat still. It only has 1300 miles on the rebuild. Fingers crossed.

Beautiful example of the Baby Browning. PSA makes a great version of this classic. Buy some 25 ACP snap caps for it so that it can be safely dry fired. They're inexpensive. Lenn is an incredibe sorce for info. He knows more about the design than anyone and is really a nice guy to speak with. Where did you get the mag with the extension on it? What did that mag cost? I have 2 Baby Brownings and would like to get a mag like yours. Thanks

Yes, Lenn is outstanding, I spent an hour + on the phone with him talking about the history of him buying the company and manufacturing. The reason I reached out becuase I wanted to buy some parts for my Bauer 25.
