Chaperones are not for the patient! If a patient does not want one that should be respected and the exam should continue. This would result in trust by the patient. Physicians need together over it and start to act as professionals.

What about those who are controlled with medicine, have one, but have warning signs if one's about to hit? Anyone can lose control of their vehicle. On the other hand, those who have them daily, I agree, should never drive. Do you have a video of one who did drive against doctors' orders and wrecked? If so, I'd like to see it. If that ever happens, I'm not risking it.

Chaperones are for the benefit of the physicians only, not the patient. You can offer a chaperone but if the patient does not desire one the exam should continue. All physicians should be willing to conduct the exam without a chaperone present.

I am very interested how can you preserve the patients privacy, dignity and make them comfortable if the do NOT want any third party in the room during sensitive exam. What you are saying may be true only if some patient requested a chaperone.
@Robert-wj3mj Жыл бұрын
Let’s face it there are no male chaperones in the room the humiliation of females in the room is a double standard for a man that may be in a vulnerable position …

I went to see a dermatologist for a problem in the Unpleasantness area in 2020 and was asked if I wanted a "chaperone" during the examination. I thought that this was a joke and was amazed when a middle-aged nurse with a face like thunder entered the room to observe the proceedings. We are getting very, very close to that Benny Hill joke about the Car Park Attendant being a real life possibility. In addition, I suspected that the "chaperone" blamed me for forcing her to witness the whole sordid affair.

What a joke! Clearly a chaparone is to protect the physician's medical license, not the patient, and takes intrusive behaviour to a whole new level. I will never willingly allow that to happen again when I see my Oncologist. a woman. Nor do I know what prompted the use of the chaparone, when that has never been the case in the past. Besides, my doctor says that another option is for her to use the inter-com system. I will never go for another cancer survelience appointment again if my wishes are not respected, even when I make them very clearly known. Nor will I sign any treatment authorizations to allow that. The chaparone was not up by the patient's head, but rather the other end, and laughing when very personal and distressing information was shared. She was unwelcome. To say I was disgusted was an understatement! I neither need nor want an audience under any circumstances! A recent visit to a Urologist's office was frustrating, challenging and distressing, due to two nurses failing to read my medical record, instead making presumptions. No wonder I have no trust in the so called medical profession, especially when obvious mistakes seem to be the norm, and advocating for oneself falls upon deaf ears! Patients are not Amazon boxes to be shoved from one location to the next. Not going back!

Self-prescribing actually goes on a lot more than people realise. I have seen doctors self-prescribe painkillers for migraines despite the fact they wouldn’t dream of helping a patient like that.

Wow, does she truly believe that having a second person in the room will REDUCE the patient's embarrassment? It is most likely to make that worse, not better.
@jessman85972 ай бұрын
It's hard for me to believe she actually believes this nonsense. Her job is to put out propaganda to gaslight patients. It's about forcing patients to comply rather than actually caring for the patient. She's advocating for legalized abuse and she knows it.

I wonder how a woman being examined by her gynecologist would feel about a young attractive male nurse acting as a chaperone. I bet that never happens. For some reason, female doctors/nurses feel that men don't have any modesty. They always say, "I've done this hundreds of times, and I've seen it all." Well, good for you! You've never seen me! They're more concerned about their own feelings, rather than the patient's feelings.

There are many factors that can determine whether or not an individual with a seizure disorder can safely drive a motor vehicle. Some people who can still have a seizure can drive provided that they consistently get a warning of an impending seizure so that they can pull over to a safe spot such as a parking lot and stop driving. If the individual has non-convulsive seizures where they do not lose motor control. It is generally safe for them to drive. In a case like that, they can start to feel funny when they have a seizure. These seizures are often short lived and very rarely interfere with driving. In other cases, the individual might start to feel not so great and they might have to stop driving for a short time. In any case, it is best for the individual affected by a seizure disorder to consult with their doctor to see whether or not it is safe for them to drive a motor vehicle. The affected individual should also check with their government motor vehicle licensing agency (often called the Department of Motor Vehicles in the United States), to see how long they need to remain seizure free for before they can apply for a driver's license or to have their driver's license restored if they had a driver's license prior to being diagnosed with epilepsy or other seizure disorder. In a great many cases, it is important to use good judgement to determine whether it is adequately safe for a specific individual with epilepsy to drive a motor vehicle.

What bugs me most is there's no recognition by anyone for this giant sacrifice government is asking for. Also why does this policy treat tiny seizures the same as grand mal seizures.

The term "Medical Professional" is where I have the most difficulty accepting this practice. Just because someone works in a Medical Office does not qualify them as a medical professional any more than someone working in a school qualifies them as an educator.
@DaRyteJuan Жыл бұрын
It would if the “medical professional” is not beholden to anyone. How that is to be achieved is open to debate.
@gregmatzinger7758 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. Having an office worker with no current medical skills sit-in on an intimate procedure that clearly goes against the patient’s wishes is just wrong. I would be very worried about the character of an office worker who would apply for and/or keep this kind of job. Taking a paycheck for adding to patient humiliation while having no ability to medically examine or assist is morally reprehensible.

Hello i would like to ask something. Is a coroner a judge or a doctor who can question witnesses and act like a judge?

The coroners court is corrupt and they play by there own rules, they don't do medicals, they lie on reports and they destroy evidence. I publicly called out the Qld duty state coroner Jane Bentley for being an accomplice in murder and she immediately resigned to get out of criminal chargers. Coroners are the criminals.

Biggest complaints I hear are chaperones are not about the patient, they are about protecting the medical person. 2. Using who ever happens to be handy, including the front desk receptionist. 3. A male patient with female medical personnel and the chaperone is another woman. Note: I have a female Urologist. I trust and like her. Another person would just make for an awkward situation. She has never suggested a chaperon and neither have I.
@jessman85972 жыл бұрын
Those are all very accurate objections. The patients are all aware that chaperones are only there to protect the doctor and make the exams even more humiliating.
