Class of '94. Not a ton has changed. A lot of memories. Thanks

I am Edward Milford Miller. My dad was Edward Paul Miller. He was the director of alumni affairs at KSU and was responsible for putting this festival on. Ultimately, it cost him his job. My sister and I were 10 and 12 at the time, and we “worked “ the festival selling programs. It has remained a fantastic, almost surrealistic memory for us both throughout our lives. Thank you so much to whoever put together.

Ed, your dad was my boss from the Special Events Committee on the campus. We brought in a lot of big name groups that helped put Kutztown on the music map. Your dad was behind it all. And it was because of your dad that I got to meet them all. Your dad was quite effective in getting things done.

We to Lock Haven College , now it's the Lock Haven University . These small quaint towns are a gem , especially in this crazy ass world , and worse living in Philly , homicide retreat in USA. I mean , every city has problems , some worse than others , but Philly , there's no saving it. It's done, put a fork in it.

Where was the exact place where cutie Susanna Cox hanged by her slender, soft neck.? The event garnered many people , for to see. Young cutie hang by her neck was to be watched with alot of fascination. She was't hanged from a trap door , long drop, type gallows , but stood on an ox driven cart driven from under her slippered feet that were falling off to where the hangman claimed he had to adjust them on her dainty feet , but the hangman had to tug on her kicking legs , and feet , putting a spectacle on for the on lookers , but that was his excuse for being gruesome at pulling on her barefeet , by now , to hasten expiration, which did after about 20 minutes of spasmodic dangling . Susanna was left to swing til sunset as a warning so that others wouldn't wind up that way.

This guy is a PA Dutch Legend. I think his name is Keith Britzenhoff. I used to buy instrument parts from his music shop on main st. Kutztown. We need to preserve our PA Dutch Tradition! Please listen to this man. We need to maintain our culture. Culture is so important because if we don’t preserve it, it will disappear.

In September of 76 Kutztown had the festival. Worked 3 -18 hour days In security and never got paid. The promoter Miller stole all the money. Love to see him again. I also got stabbed as well as a guard by a hillbilly. A thick sweatshirt saved me that night
@edmiller68123 ай бұрын
I can’t believe that I’ve stumbled across this. I am Ed Miller. You would certainly remember me and my little sister. We were 13 and 11 during this festival and worked it every day selling programs and other helpful stuff. My father Ed Miller, contrary to the accused not “steal” all of the money. When it came down to settling up all of the costs, the festival came in in the red, lost money, and the kutztown alumni association wasn’t willing to understand. My dad intended for the festival to be an annual event. And so year one, in 1976 was probably going to break even at best. I remember the knife fight and stabbing incident. I was there. It’s amazing to see your post some 50 years later.
@gregorychalmers60053 ай бұрын
Wow. That’s crazy 50 years. In a flash. Yeah that knife fight was crazy. A thick shirt saved me. Ok. I guess I was wrong about your Dad. Be well my friend

@@denisewinter5813 They owed me 180 dollars. That was big money back then. I got back stage ,up close with Emmy Lou Harris and James Taylor’s brother etc. lots of people. The uniformed guard also got hurt. 13 stitches in the hand. We didn’t get the stabber but we did pound the hell out of his partner the next day. Loooong time ago
