Hi Simon, Apologies for joining the party late, and thank you for the great video and very clear demonstration. We decided to take the plunge and have a levelling system fitted as we've experienced a few close shaves using ramps. We decided it's only SKI money any way so why not make life easier. Then when you start looking at the various systems is where the problem starts. I won't mention makes but I've read of legs dropping whilst driving, legs leaking oil, legs collapsing and finally problems with the company that fitted the system, all this starts to put me off laying out the cash and sticking with the ramps. The other issue is getting a reply from two dealers that fit a German system which is £7k, I've been waiting weeks for a reply from both of them, which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. You've had yours now for over a year and I assume you're still happy with it?

Sorry for the late reply we are in Europe at the moment and still love the system we use it nearly every time we park as being level all the time makes such a difference to Motorhome life. No issues so far and we have levelled about a thousand times!!

Hi Simon, Thank you for posting your video. The system looks very good. I am using standard chocks at present, which will raise the vehicle up 18cms. Please can you tell me what the maximum height your levelling system will lift the vehicle? Is there a warning system on the cab controller that indicates that levelling cannot be achieved?
@syncrosimon
@syncrosimon 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, the system will show a cross over the spirit levels when out of its range, however you can still level manually and use your own judgement as to how much you can level up. On a flat surface you can get all 4 wheels a good 10cm off the ground. I believe the height of the rams is adjustable, so you can tuck them up more if that is important, or have them extend out further. The installer will set the ram height according to the ground clearance on your vehicle. So yes even on very steep slopes you can make a significant difference to the level, even if it won’t do it automatically or get her perfectly level. You have to be careful to keep the chassis square when going manual, but in practice it’s just common sense.

@@syncrosimon Thank you Simon for the quick reply. My concern is parking across the slope and then deploying the rams. The jacks will be deploying off the vertical by the angle of the slope resulting in all the jacks being tilted. The system is designed to cope with that to a certain extent but, I was wondering what side to side angle of dangle the system could cope with related to chassis lift height. If the rams can lift your vehicle wheels 10cms (uncompressed suspension) from the ground then just lifting the one side from vehicle weight compressed suspension (if that sort of lift is possible) would be more than enough. It may be a faff, but I was wondering whether it would be necessary to ramp raise the vehicle to roughly level on anything more than a mild slope before deploying the rams so they would descend more in the vertical. In reality, I just want to press the button and have done with it. Also, the spreader plates you spoke of in your reply to Inquisitive 1, where did you get them please?
@syncrosimon
@syncrosimon 2 жыл бұрын
@@markeverson268 I have used the system manually on a steep side slope on a wet mud and gravel car park on Mull last week. I think I prefer the cheaper Amplo remote control as you can place it on the ground as you bend or kneel down to look underneath and operate both rams at the same time. I am not sure I would want to put my phone in the mud, or wait for an app to load. We end up levelling up just about everywhere, even supermarket car parks as until you really are level you don’t realise just how much worse it is to be even a little bit off. It has revolutionised parking up, now we just park up for the best view, quick walk around to see what the levellers will make contact with, press the button. We have 30cm square plates to increase contact patch, but have not needed to use them in an 8 day West coast Scotland trip where we wild camped for 6 of those nights. I can’t imagine anyone not finding them really useful. I lock the panel with a code, so this will slow down any thief too, which I like.

Hi Simon Aldred, if you press the menù button (in the high left corner) and go in the user menù (user icon) you can find the draining tanks function (the third selection). You can use the draining tanks function if your motorhome's slope is less than 1.5°.

We got ours for £4500, last summer. We are super happy with it, having the motorhome level is revolutionary, the sink and shower work, the doors don’t swing open, the water tank gauge works reliably, sleeping is so much nicer. Other benefits are that the water runs off the windscreen channel properly and down the drain pipe, not into the electrics of the engine! Working underneath is now a breeze as you can lift her up till all four wheels are off the ground (best on a flat surface) so any inspection and maintenance jobs are so much easier. We level nearly every time we park now. Plus you can lock the screen with a passcode, which will delay any would be thief. We now don’t carry a spare wheel to offset the weight. We take the Moho over some fairly rough terrain and no ground clearance issues, t-he rams seem to be the same height as the lower suspension arms, so if you don’t ground out on the body the jacks will be fine. We would find it hard to go back to a Moho without jacks, and they are easy enough to remove and swap if you change vehicle. The lack of a phone app seems to be the reason it’s cheaper than the ma-ve. But to be honest you just press the level button and that’s it, the remote works well if you are doing anything out of the ordinary. Once the jacks haven’t retracted fully, not sure why, may have been operator error, so now I do a visual check to make sure fully up.

@@syncrosimon thanks for an excellent detailed reply. I’m guessing the price change is due to the extra costs incurred by EU duty now being payable. And also everything else is going up !!! I’ve looked for a while at these systems and not gone for them but as we now have our long term motorhome (our 4th) it’s time to bite the bullet - these are easily £1K less then the competition but from a use perspective I struggle to see a difference apart from as you say the mobile connectivity - thanks for your help 👍

We paid £4500 including, was fitted in a day. Very happy with the service. They work on any hard surface, and work on dry grass and normal gravel. We have some spreader plates for wet grass which are plastic and about a foot square. Very happy with the system, I would struggle in a Moho without them now as they change how you enjoy being in one. Imagine stuff not rolling off the tables!

The rams when retracted are at the same height as the lower suspension arms and rear axle. They are quite close to the wheels so don’t get caught on anything so far. We are quite adventurous with the Moho and no grounding out. We use the levelling system all the time. It’s a real game changer, having everything flat is just not natural.
