I love my Pstyle! I call it women’s liberation in a piece of plastic! I got it during Covid when I didn’t want to go into rest areas. I use it everywhere and recommend it all the time. I just got a Kula to be able to fully dry. I love the attachment thingy you’re using with your Kula - that’s genius.

How do you fold clothes before you put them inside, cause it looks like you fit things inside neatly? Also can't understand that motion you do where you push the air out. Thanx.

Doesn't Litesmith sell flat/smooth-bottom (without Talenti's annoying nibs at the bottom) jars similarly-shaped as Talenti, but in bigger sizes (16oz = 2-cups, 20oz and 26oz = over 3-cups)? And aren't they rated for boiling water, better sealing lid and similar weight as Talenti? ($4, $5, $6). And can't one reach into Litesmith's jars to clean them? What about Vargo-Bots? They seal, clean-easy and can cook in them? What about this author's favorite - Freezer-bags? Freezer-bags can take boiling water, only weigh 7g each, are low-cost and once packaged, don't require repackaging. Simply pour in hot-water and put in cozy (Hyperlite, GG and Big-Sky). Or cold-water and hike-on. Clean them out to re-use if one hates plant-life, or toss them in recycle if one loves trees. (Because trees and plant-life love CO2, despite what wokesters were taught).

have any tips as to what to do with backpack when entering a grocery store? typically the store doesn't allow even small backpacks and being alone, i am wondering how to handle this situation.
@2footadventures7285 ай бұрын
Hi Ivan, Good question, 2 ways to handle this. If you are alone, take your backpack off and put it in a shopping cart while you do your shopping. This way you are not likely to draw any attention to yourself or knock into anything as if you were wearing it. If you can do your resupply with another hiker, then take turns, one goes in a does their shopping, while the other stays with the backpacks. Do not leave your backpack unattended, you are asking for trouble by doing so.

Hi Pillsbury. I think one different thing that I do is put my sleeping bag in a compression dry bag. Pretty much the same thing for everything else. I use 2 1 1/2 liter smart bottles that fit on the sides in my SWD rugged long haul 50 that I got at your place in Julian. 1 750 smart that I put on the left side shoulder strap in my CTUG bottle bag that I got at your place in KM south. I carry a fanny pack in front wear I have some stuff that you put in your bag pockets. Regardless, what ever works. Hopefully Oliveoyl and I will be seeing you in a couple of months in Julian. Happy trails.

Hi Mary, I just opened up KZbin and to my surprise, your video came up! You did an excellent job with this video. Anybody reading this, I can attest to how well Mary packs a backpack, because she packed mine when I departed Kennedy Meadows South to go into the Sierra. Thanks again Mary! If you hike the PCT, please be sure to patronize 2 Foot Adventures. Best, Zappa

I used a Talenti jar once and understood immediately that it was way too small. Don't know what so many are thinking, they probably use them mindlessly because everyone else is using them. Sheep

Thank you for the tip about using the Nalgene bottle for rehydrating meals. I find the distain that ultralight backpackers have for them to be REALLY ANNOYING. I DO carry a Smart Water bottle or two. But I ALSO carry a Nalgene. They serve different purposes. Let each tool serve its own purpose.

Your pee set up is so smart! For washing your Kula cloth at a "water source", do you just rinse it in a stream or air dry? Or do you use filtered water?
@scudderbrown9275 Жыл бұрын
Rinse in a stream or creek and air dry is sufficient.

I love my Shewee extreme and Kula cloth. I use a bidet in a bottle too so I don't have to bring toilet paper at all. I just wash my butt after pooping. A small dropper bottle (5ml) with unscented liquid Castille soap and a deuce trowel rounds out my poop kit.

Any problems with UTI’s?
@pyronymph-868 Жыл бұрын
The kula cloth has silver built into the fabric, so it's antimicrobial. I have never heard of a kula cloth user reporting UTI's as a result of using the cloth. Urine is sterile,, just stay in the pee zone with the kula cloth. Use normal hygiene washing your hands before removing/inserting a menstrual cup, and washing after peeing, pooping, or dealing with menstrual blood.

Hi what pack, shoulder pocket, water bottle pocket and hip belt pockets are you wearing?
@scudderbrown92752 жыл бұрын
The Pack is a SWD Rugged Long Haul, 1L Water Bottle Holder CTG, as is the 2.5L Fanny Pack. Shoulder pouch is also Chicken Tramper. We also carry the Chicken Tramper 1L Fanny Pack. Other Fanny Packs we carry are the 1.7L Melookie custom Designs and LiteAF.

@@scudderbrown9275 Awesome thanks! I am actually considering the SWD 40 or 50 L pack but I also noticed the LiteAF Curve 46 in your shop. How is the Curve 46 compared to the LH40 or 50? Which is the most comfortable to carry? Which is the better pack?
@scudderbrown92752 жыл бұрын
@@filipcullin2132 Both LiteAF and SWD use thicker shoulder straps and waist belts. Once correctly sized for long haul carries, The pack choice really comes down to the subject's comfort. The only way you will know is to come in and try them, an advantage we provide our community that you otherwise do not get.

I’m not sure I agree with much of what you’re saying. First, the vast majority of freezer bag foods are for TWO persons, not one. Don’t get me wrong, I happily down both portions much of the time, but the reality is, if people were eating just one portion, the Talenti jar would be just fine. Second, I’d rather clean the jar than the CNOC bag any day of the week. Third, no one wants to carry that giant Nalgene and cleaning it would be a giant pain in the butt. Hard pass on all of the above.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but I genuinely don't understand how taking food from one plastic bag and putting it in another plastic bag is supposed to save plastic. Please enlighten.

Those Knorr Rice sides bag can be used to cook the food. Cut open the top of the bag and pour 12oz boiling water into bag + add a chicken package. Won't work on Pasta sides. Pasta comes out crunchy.

Thank you for your video, these are wonderful tips, I definitely will come by and visit your store. Any recommendation for winter boots using K 10 crampons for getting in the Sierras in May
@scudderbrown92752 жыл бұрын
Juergen, Best recommendation is to bring the boots in, and let's see how the K-10 fits. I'm pretty sure, that unless the boots were really heavy duty, there should not be an issue, but if you are coming by, bring the boots. Come May, both our Julian location is open (MM77 winding down) and our Kennedy Meadows South location (MM702 gearing up) for the hikers.

Also, although I don’t overnight or thru hike, I do live in a large urban 4 season city and walk/use public transit so each day feels like a hike 😉. 15 years ago I wore plastic grocery bags over my socks inside my Uggs so that is also a low cost alternative to option #1! 😁 Thanks!

Thank you for this! Another option for cold soaking, if you already have a pot/lid set is to add a thin piece of silicone sheeting between the pot and lid and use an x-band or a couple of thick rubber bands to hold the lid on. It stays sealed nicely and you can always heat it on a stove or fire. It can also save fuel even if you want hot meals, to soak them first, then just bring it up to temperature without having to cook for a longer time. All the best, Scott
