Yes it can. We confirmed with our "gunny" just a few moments ago. The Aimpoint will push into the convoluted lid foam but it will fit, no problem. Thank you. Here's a link to the item on our website: mycasebuilder.com/mcb-pre-made-designs/armsguard-5-pistol-18-magazine-doro-d1611-6-heavy-duty-case/

is it possible to add wheels and a handle to an existing model of case?
@mycasebuilder9 ай бұрын
It depends on which model of case. Some models are available with or without the wheels and handle, so if you have one of those, you can add the wheels and handle assembly. Contact us with the model and we can see if we can find a way.

I have a similar question about spacing, but instead of harmonicas, it would be heavier items ranging from 2 to about 22 pounds. Is there a way to know how much foam should be left to ensure the items stay separated upon moving or impact? I feel like it should be a lot, but that may not be the case. So for example, say I have 2 cylinders like a soup can but each weighs about 10 lbs, how much foam should be between them roughly?
@RonaldSpradley-j7j10 ай бұрын
Not sure if anyone at My Case Builder monitors comments on these videos, but it would be helpful to know how much the polyurethane foam (I think this is the Egg Crate foam, right?) will compress on the top without damaging it? Is there a rule, say maybe 50%, or something I can use as a guide when designing my cases?
@curtraso11 ай бұрын
What do you recommend the minimum spacing would be for example that harmonica case in between each harmonica.
@mycasebuilder11 ай бұрын
I would recommend at least 1/2" but 3/4" would be better

Is it difficult to cut the foam up top for a red dot?

It's very easy to cut the foam with a utility knife. Please note that there is only about an inch of foam on top of the pistol, so please make sure your pistol with red dot will fit.

We design some complicated electronics. it would be great if we could import cad files from Solidworks or Creo to create the outline for our foam. The only way I could get your software to work in making custom foam for my case was to save my sketch in Solidworks to a PNG file then I had to snip that file to another PNG file so your software would accept it.

We are working on adding DXF importing into the app. Should be ready Q3 of 2023. For now, please contact customer service ([email protected]) and we can help you import. Thanks!

I have the Pelican case and took it to Africa. While in Johannesburg it started raining at the airport and then it was raining again in Atlanta. By the time I got to San Francisco I was exhausted with jet lag...took me 5 days before I opened my bags and gun case. Water had gotten into my Pelican case and rusted my 458. Had to have the whole thing re-blued. That foam they put in there retains moisture like a sponge! The case may float on a lake...but it won't keep the rain out.

A suggestion. If you ever update this video, you might want to add a few more details that enthusiasts of plastic storage boxes might be interested in. The most important of which is, do they stack upon each other and what is that limit. Also are there any mounts available such as hard mounting to vehicles - autos, boats, RVs. Other than that, it was a pretty informative presentation.

I spent about 5 hours today cutting my foam to hold 4 pistols, 8 additional magazines, earmuffs, and a few slots for extra boxes of ammo. I knew the foam would last forever, but was satisfied with the results. Once I was finished I stepped away momentarily and came back to find my cat standing inside the box. He fell through parts of the foam wrecked all my hard work. I'm glad I found your sight, will be ordering an insert today, and may just burry my cat alive in an extra tough case.

*What knife and hot gun do you recommend?*
@mycasebuilder2 жыл бұрын
The best knife for cutting PE foam is a fishing fillet knife. If not, any long blade that does not flex too much. Best way to glue is with a hot melt glue gun that you can get at any craft store.

How does this work with RMR equipped pistols?
@carrycasesplus2 жыл бұрын
The lid on this case is 1.75" deep. As you can see, full size pistols stick up a bit into the lid and others don't stick up as much. So depending on how thick the RMR is and the height of your pistol, it might fit.
@kevindye21662 жыл бұрын

will guns with optics work ok with these cases. are they too tall or is there plenty of room for them to fit under lid?
@mycasebuilder3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, some optics will work with these cases. There is 1.77" of space in the lid but the compression of the foam will cut that back a little. Also the firearms will stick up a little over the base. Small optics can work if they don't stick up over those lid dimensions.

what does the yellow part mean? Can we draw on it?
@mycasebuilder3 жыл бұрын
The yellow part is basically a warning area. You can place you cutouts there. It means you are getting close to the edge of the case and as all cases taper inwards, if your shape is deep enough there might be a hole in the foam. Always check the 3D rendering to see if there are any holes.
