As long as you don’t have the affliction that makes it so enemies take 5% life mana and energy shield on hit, the damage he does is nothing.

I found that unstable oil doesn't seem to work with a weapon that strikes more than once normally... not that there's usually much left of the enemy after you finish hitting two or three times!
