That was something I was going for, yeah. At the time I had been told I'd need to split the area up between different rooms and scenes for it to function properly (it's too large to fit any amount of actors in), but I just didn't have the energy to learn Blender to get it done.

Thanks very much. I've seen your name and videos pop up a lot for OoT custom stuff, surprised you saw this. I've updated it since then, but the map got so massive that I can no longer test it since it just crashes (I don't know how to do anything with loading zones and multiple scenes). Eventually, I want to build the whole thing then just copy/paste specific chunks into their own maps and delete what's not needed for a particular area.
@tesha91382 жыл бұрын
@@ERRandDEL Wow! I didn't realize that I was popular in the modding community. Haha I don't really know what to advise you with the problem other than ask for help on Hylian Modding if you haven't, have the rom decompressed or whatever? Or maybe just cut pieces of them into separate transitional rooms or different maps entirely like Clock Town? Nothing else I can really give as I'm still working with my town and I don't know how it'll handle the engine until it's complete. I do suggest you export your maps into blender though so that it can be given vertex lighting and to fix the the textures of your map. Not saying to switch over though cause you did say it's complex for you but this is all just a suggestion to help make your maps look nicer but don't feel pressured to do it if you don't want. :)
@ERRandDEL2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was the plan, to just make a 'master' map in full detail and cut out pieces to make specific maps out of, and delete all of the things the player isn't going to see and all that. I'm not learning Blender lol. I've tried that program twice, took a week just for me to figure out how to pan the camera, and I think it's extraordinarily obtuse and more than what I need. *Everybody* always says 'but muh vertex shading' when it comes to Blender, and tbh I don't really care. Not that I'm even working on any of this anymore lol

It is pretty spooky, but something I intend on making a video on is a modified universal route. This route is reliable on Sol and Ky, but that's it. For lightweights and heavyweights they actually wind up interacting with the wall differently, and to top it off even a small amount of built-up risc gauge can throw the whole route out of wack with earlier-than-expected wallsticks. The modified route utilizes a similar setup, and opts for three j.D's instead of the four you see here, with different timing as well. It comes out to be less damage, too, but the route in this video is at least useful in the Sol and Ky matchups. Advice I always stick to with combo videos like this is to experiment with it, and figure out if it's something you can *truly* rely on in practical scenarios or not. In retrospect I think this one is sort of borderline.
@ERRandDEL3 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna add another video here soon, because these routes don't work on all weight classes! Also, if RISC is filled at all (like off a c.S into the f.S) you'll get a wall stick on only the second j.D! Fortunately the new routes I worked out are very similar to this one, work on all weights with timing adjustments per, but at the cost of ~50 damage. I'll have more when I'm not working.

Combo notation was a little confusing at first, it would be great if you could edit the notation in the description to include the drift of the Roman cancel. Ie: 66.RRC
@ERRandDEL3 жыл бұрын
You're totally right, I forgot that. KZbin unfortunately also doesn't let me do carrots for notation. Also figured out proper notation for fast RC is XRC~X.

You guys really aught to explore the idiosyncrasies of your characters. You can be getting a lot better reads and punishes if you get use to the particular aspects of the individual character instead of pushing the stick toward your opponent's direction and pressing A. Throwing toward the closest blast zone when there's an option to throw into an actual finisher is more harmful than helpful.
@ERRandDEL10 жыл бұрын
I get what you're saying, that always running right up to your opponent balls-to-the-wall isn't the ideal way to play the game, but all things considered, I thought I did pretty well with what I had; a flat stage where Wolf could abuse lasers, with which I could come down with b-airs to block them out from the few platforms. Yeah, there were a few moments where I had myself set up for a kill and didn't follow through properly, like when I'd gotten Wolf down on a platform above me. I could've followed up with a few u-airs or a f-air, but overall I thought it went pretty well. I know that particular Wolf f-smashes way too much, so it's pretty easy to punish him with a grab when he hits my shield, or whenever he retreats, he immediately lasers which I can just shield and grab. I felt more comfortable going for kills off of the sides of the stage in that matchup than I did kills off of the ceiling.
@ERRandDEL8 ай бұрын
Not gonna lie, even 10yr later this *still* lives rent-free in my head and I gotta ask myself from time to time "hm am I getting this yet?"
@PopcornBunni8 ай бұрын
Reading back on it, I came across as a lot harsher than I probably intended to. I think a better way to say what I wanted was to approach situations in a way that lets you get a feel for how your opponent reacts in those situations. That's the basis of conditioning. Take Marth vs Fox for example. If you forward throw near the ledge and they DI up, you can F-smash and get a kill. If you do an up-throw and they DI out, you get a free fair dair followup. so conditioning fox with a couple fast f-throws and an empty dash followup will get them in the mindset to DI out, which is where your next Up-throw catches them now that you have them figured out. @@ERRandDEL
