Some artists used to manipulate the color Polaroids off an SX-70

As an Advertising Photographer I had a love/ hate relationship with Polaroid. I shot tons of 4x5 Polaroids that cost my clients mucho$$! The 8x10 images were Amazing 😊

Heathrow is terrible. Said x ray was safe upto 800, I put my 3200 and 1600 in for hand check then the guy said yeah put your other film in there too boss 😉 then some other inspector kicked off and made me take the everything 800 and below out. Original guy was like I never said you could put less than 800 in there. Bunch of muppets. Miami airport was sound though

Those additional creative color effects (if you wish to call it) turn me off from purchasing it. To each their own I guess.

Hi would you recommend the Lomo Instax Square Glass or Instax Wide Glass? I’m not necessarily hung up about the photo being wide or square but more the results + enjoyability. The square does look easier to carry around. I’m pulling my hair out trying to decide!

SX70 is ISO 100. Image is much sharper and pleasing to the eye. So no, don’t convert your SX70 for an ISO 600 film.

Why tf r u on Instagram telling Americans who to vote for? Stay in your lane bro. If you’re voting for commiela Harris and tampon Tim that’s great news. But don’t go out telling everybody to do the same as you. I used to enjoy your content but I now I see you’re just part of the hive mind. You should be ashamed. But then again look at you, low t middle aged bald white guy. I shouldn’t expect anything differently.

I get what you're saying, but I honestly don't see how they could've mounted the viewfinder on top without blocking the ejection port for the film.

Is it me who thinks that the color palette of these films are darker than mini? I don't know how to explain right but it looks darker or less vibrant, and I like the colors of the mini while liking the square shape so I'm not sure about getting this.

As I mentioned in the Polavision post, I was working in product development at Polaroid in the late '70's and early '80's when Polavision happened and the derivative 35mm product came to be as a way to use up some of the technology developed for Polavision. Once again, it was a solution to a problem that almost nobody had. It was certainly not a mass consumer product and fell into the photo-specialist market. Just like Polavision, the slide market was small and shrinking. Digital was on the horizon. I was surprised to see that it was still around in the early 2000's.

"You could not do market research on the first calculator" Are you stupid? The Mac was not the first calculator. (Not even the Apple.) More so they had the Lisa before and based on the failure of that it is guaranteed they made (and had a basis on what to do it) market research before they made the Macintosh.

When film is sensitive to X-Ray, then how come the film is xrayed at production? Also if it would be sensitive to X-Ray, we could take photos in X-Ray spectrum. Don't believe - think and check stuff yourself.

I have an instant wide 200 - very frustrated at how "infinity focus" is actually exactly 20ft, and the lack of aperture adjustment and really limiting shutter speeds. Easiest way to get wrongly exposed blurry photos out there, but I suppose I got what I paid for at £4 from a charity shop. To see that this has zero focussing aids is pretty annoying, honestly.

I keep hoping someone will produce larger sized Polaroid film packs. There are several old MF cameras that have Polaroid backs no one has been able to use in forever. These cameras prove there’s a market.

As someone who's spent an inordinate amount of time converting a Mamiya Press camera to shoot Instax Wide to have exactly these kinds of controls over my composition, I am now seriously considering buying one of these as a lightweight alternative for fun/travel use.

Dude I did something similar. Got a mamiya press lens to go on my instax wide. Haven't done the mod yet but can't return the lens at this point. Kicker was that the lomo camera was announced right after the return period

Hard to say, both are as sharp as I’d ever care for, but the I-2 will be in focus with much higher regularity due to the lidar autofocus

Ben, the lack of a hot or cold shoe IS annoying but I’ve had good success on another plastic camera with a stick on shoe . Glued down a flat piece of plastic 3 times the width of strong plastic to the shoe base (to reduce the risk of the glued on shoe cracking out a chunk of the camera body if accidentally pressure was applied) and glued the shoe onto that . Used an old “watameter” rangefinder
@InAnInstant28 күн бұрын
You could also use a screw-on cold shoe and use the tripod mount on the base of the camera. It creates a fun flipping motion you do with the camera. Stick on always makes me nervous and it’s kinda destructive to the fleather
