As colleagues from our Bioarchaeology Lab tell us, essentially the lack of DNA is environmental in nature: the environment of Sudan is not ideal for long term DNA preservation. So while attempts have been made, there has just not been any solid success as yet for the Kerma period.

Very interesting. I would very much like to see a reconstructed model of the Mycenaean era Temple of Aphrodite near old Paphos, using some educated guesses of course. Was this temple first constructed around 1195 BCE?
