I’d like to see a head to head between Axopar 22 and Iron 707. In rough weather so they are really put to the test. And then all other practical aspects covered including build quality and fuel consumpition.

Interesting vid, and thx for posting. I'm considering that same boat and was concerned on how it would handle rough seas. Looks like it did well (saw your return vid, too, with a rougher ride (and customs, too). Question is how rough did your passengers feel the ride was (I'll have some ladies on board and and uncomfortable ride with them gets me beat up.

You have a right on public waters to film the encounter. Even though the USCG is working under Title 14 USC § 89 (Revenue & Service) which allows them to override parts of the Fourth Amendment, telling you to turn off your camera falls under a violation of your First Amendment rights. You can not deny a boarding, verbal resistance is a $500 fine, while physical resistance is a $10k fine and possibly 10 years in prison. However, the Coast Guard is required to uphold the Constitution and blatant violations against US citizens by the Coast Guard will result in charges brought against them under the UCMJ.

Hilarious how they mass produce boats that average over 300k or this one over 500k. Truly a beautiful toy but the world makes 10x's the unaffordable toys than affordable ones. So the ultra nice hardly get used and just spend their life rotting. I can't tell you how many boats I've seen over 30 foot and over 300k and they just rot away most of their life.

They can ask you to not record, but fuck that. You have every right to record them doing their job.

Very well done. I would like to add: 1. Buying an older boat and refit the boat according to the purpose (currently cheaper TCO) 2. Batteries will in price every year between 15 to 30%. However waiting doesn’t make sense. 3. Conversion to electric with a small generator on board as range extender However, the decision has to fit the personal needs. We have two electric cars and charge from the sun. This is another viable option for boats bigger surface. In the future the market will explode and H2 will enter the market as well. Slower but steady.
