Moved to Little Elm a couple of years ago and have no regrets. Intentionally avoided 380 and chose a home near the Frisco city limits.

North Plano, Allen, McKinney are also nice places. I chose to settle in Allen, TX. You pay higher for the good schools and nicer areas. Newer build areas also are more expensive as houses are new.

Native Texan, lived in plano twice, loved it as a kid and in my early 20s , was busy all day just living it up 24/7. I currently live in the PNW for work and the nature is amazing but this is a truly boring place unless u like hiking over and over for a different rendition of the same view. Everything is completely opposite of Dallas, its seriously old and outdated here, its just a bunch of small towns that have grown together and the roads cant handle the population. I cant stand it up here, hopefully we will be back to the DFW in not long .

I can't speak for the whole of McKinney but it is a vast area. We don't go downtown and most everything we need is a short drive from the house not far from 75. For us it has a great location and my wife drives down the highway to work, which is what it is, there is no better job for her any where closer. I am retired. This house was on a golf course when we bought it but since then the golf course went out of business and the land rebuilt except where we are which cannot be residential behind us. We like it here and it is the best place in Texas we have lived. It's weird but right here storms break either to the S or N of us and miss up just about every time. If I have to live in Texas I would rather be here.

I’m glad you explained the weather! People that never lived here or only visited in the dead middle of summer, they think it’s 100 every day lol! Like you said it’s between 97-100 for 2-3 months and that’s it. The rest of the year is pleasant other than the few cold snaps we get in the winter. The winters are pretty mild outside of that. I’m not originally from Dallas by the way. I’ve been living here for about 13 years.

Hi Michael, I have been binge watching your content. I am currently a Louisiana resident who lives in New Orleans i’m looking to move to the Dallas Fort Worth area and your content is really helping with the research but as a person who does not live there, I don’t have a good view of what crime looks like but I hear what you’re saying maybe you could do a video comparing crimes statistics to other major cities.

Finally getting to move from Dallas after living here for over 25 years. Everybody has their place. Dallas is not for me. For people saying Colorado has rude people, what part of Dallas are you at that you're not running into rude people? That's all I've run into for the last 20 years I've lived here. There's rude people everywhere unfortunately. It's all about if a place has all you're looking for. For some, Dallas will be it. For others, Denver. For the rest, neither. Move where you'll be happy.

Don't be fooled. The HOA is controlled by the developers (Tellus Group), which consists of two insecure individuals, make broken promises, are are allowing the place to become run down. They make decisions ON the homeowners, and not with them. They avoid input and feel they are unaccountable to the homeowners.

As a native and real estate agent of Dallas, please note that the areas named here are out in the suburbs of Dallas. There's tons of flat, undeveloped land out there just waiting for best use of land. Taxes will be high, family oriented events, and there will be a commute. Most residents reside in the (not so flat) inner city. The inner city of Dallas is going through redevelopment. None the less, it is well developed with lots of character, scenery, public transportation, and entertainment. Taxes are lower and houses will be higher... As a grad-graduate. It's the teachers you allow to teach your child, not the school.

I'm going to try out Denver area. I think the biggest reason people move to Texas is to avoid snow. Some people just ain't built for that kind of heat. I'd rather be fishing or on a hike than stuck inside my house because of blistering heat.

I've lived in The Colony for over 20 years. It was relatively affordable a decade ago, but now, it's around the same price point as the surrounding cities. I would say that the best part is how convenient it is. Unless you live in the Tribute or Stewart Peninsula, I can get anywhere in the DFW area within 35 to 45 minutes (using toll roads & not during rush hour). As he mentioned, Grandscape is pretty much what we have in terms of "wow" factor. I avoid it because it is always packed. If I do go, it’s mainly to watch a late-night movie with my family. The biggest con, in my opinion, is the amount of drunks on the road! It seems like not a weekend goes by without someone knocking over a light pole or causing a major accident. Personal note: - The lake is nasty! You couldn't pay me to swim in there. 🐊 - Paying 300k + for a Fox & Jacob is a joke! - Crime? Eh, it happens, but honestly, it's a safe city. - Grandscape is overhyped, and so is NFM. Why do we need so many furniture stores??

For those who can afford it, you might do a video on the two interior suburbs to Dallas, the Park Cities of Highland Park and University Park. As a student I lived in a garage apartment there. It has elegant living and a much shorter commute to downtown. Best of all (for me), it grew up without "master planning." I hate places where all the homes look almost identical.

So I say this as a person trying to move to DFW soon, it's not just people's opinions. A lot of people are moving to the DFW area which is driving up property values in a short time. Texas has one of the higher property tax rates, so when people's property value doubles over less than a decade it's going to cause some problems. Also for the people moving because of policies please remember where you came from and why you came to Dallas. Just because your politics are different doesn't mean that you're more right especially if you're leaving a place where you're politics failed.
